In its bid to prevent injuries and fatalities, the Richards Bay Terminals have awarded SHE Reps and fire fighters for permanently living up to their mandate. Adressing the award ceremony, Richards Bay Terminals Managing Executive, Thulasizwe Dlamini, urged all employees to be ambassadors of saftey. He vowed to always elevate issues of health saftey high on his agenda.

The Richardsbay region is currently meeting with customers, City of Umhlathuze and TNPA to deliberate on a truck staging area proposal. The proposal is from MTV Facilities and has been endorsed by the City. It is an initiative that is going to add to interventions aimed at alleviating truck traffic congestion in the region. The staging area currently boasts a capacity of about 400 trucks. Work is underway to enable it to hold about 1000 RMTs in the near future.

Today, Transnet Port Terminals welcomed the Select Committee on Public Infrastructure and the Minister in the Presidency for an insightful oversight visit. The program began with boardroom presentations, followed by an extensive port tour.
