"Bridging science and strategy: Unveiling the bioreactor simulation story." 👩🔬 Since I’m the one behind most of SimVantage’s content, it would feel a bit odd to write about myself in the third person. So, let me take this opportunity to introduce myself directly! 😊 I joined SimVantage in November 2022, during an exciting phase of my life - I was spending six months in #Finland with my toddler and partner. The offer to join the team came right in the middle of this adventure. The fact that the team was open to my situation, including a young #family and an international move, showed me how flexible and forward-thinking SimVantage is. Once I got a handle on what SimVantage actually does, I was quickly hooked - not only by the innovative spirit of the team but also by the mission and the unique software product they’re developing. In my role at SimVantage, I focus on ensuring that our expertise is communicated clearly and effectively to the outside world. This means crafting content that not only conveys complex technical concepts in a way that’s easy to understand but also strategically targets the right audiences through the most effective channels. Beyond content creation, I also work on optimizing the #customerexperience at every touchpoint, ensuring that our clients have a seamless and informative journey with us. Additionally, I support the team in strategic matters and business-related concerns, always with the aim that, one day, we'll not just meet expectations but consistently exceed them - setting a new standard for what our customers and stakeholders can anticipate.   With two young children (8 months 👶 and 3 years old 👧) who require much of my energy and attention, my work at SimVantage moves forward at a slightly slower pace. However, each day brings more progress, and I'm fully dedicated to steadily advancing our mission.   What I love most about my work: I thrive in environments that embrace change and innovation. Working at SimVantage offers me a continuous learning experience in the fascinating world of #biotech. The challenge of simplifying complex information and making it digestible for a broader audience is something I find incredibly rewarding.   Outside of work, I’m a nature enthusiast and avid hiker. 🌲 Whether it’s hiking up a mountain, building a dam in a river, or simply walking barefoot through the world - I love being close to nature. It’s where I find peace and recharge my energies. I also deeply value the experience of meeting new people and immersing myself in different cultures, as it continually broadens my perspective and enriches my understanding of the world. 🌎   How do I keep a clear head amidst sleepless nights with a baby and a toddler? For the past few months, I’ve been practicing the Wim Hof Method - a cold shower each morning sets the tone for the day ahead! 😄 I’m now up to a solid minute of ice-cold water, and it’s doing wonders for my focus and energy levels.

Well, that's still a work in progress for Christian... - he’s definitely open to tips! 😄 His recent foray into swimming 🏊♂️ , where he learned crawl with Thomas Kammerlander, is a testament to his belief in lifelong learning and, let's be honest, his refusal to sink—both in the pool and in life. 😃 He tries to train several times a week, and it’s making him stronger every day. 💪 Christian’s journey has been shaped by a rich blend of experiences and #education. He holds a degree in Industrial Environmental Protection and Recycling Technology from Leoben, where he specialized in #processengineering. He later earned his doctorate and completed his postdoctoral research under Prof. Johannes Khinast at Technische Universität Graz. The workshops and bootcamps from the Spin-Off Fellowship Program at FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH were also a crucial part of his training before founding SimVantage and continue to influence his approach today. His participation in the ProScientia Scholarship and the Forum Alpbach Network have further shaped his thinking, driving SimVantage forward with a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and a vision for a better future. Meet the innovator behind our success... Philipp Eibl is our dynamic Chief Technology Officer, who doesn’t just manage technology—he transforms it. Philipp is at the forefront of innovation, leading our team in developing groundbreaking features and scouting for new opportunities that keep us ahead of the curve. His leadership style? It’s all about #collaboration and thoughtful decision-making. He believes in solving problems at their core, ensuring that every solution is a win for the entire team. Whether he’s guiding our developers or rolling up his sleeves to code himself, Philipp’s hands-on approach and visionary mindset are what drive our success. His motto? “Improvise. Adapt. However, mundane tasks and cilantro are two things that don’t quite make it to his list of favorites! 😄 🙅♂️ Balancing work and life through adventure and reflection 🚵♂️ Outside of work, Philipp finds balance in nature, particularly through biking in all its forms—whether it's on the road, in the woods, or downhill. To him, mountain biking is a metaphor for life: enduring the slow climb, enjoying the fast descent, and taking moments to appreciate the view. This approach to life fuels his work, where persistence, focus, and the ability to pause and reflect are key to success. Philipp draws a lot of inspiration from Christoph Strasser, an ultra-endurance cyclist who demonstrates the power of a humble and realistic mindset in achieving greatness.

This is Michael Ronald Wagner... 👨🔬 ...our resident data visualization expert and project lead! With a knack for transforming complex scientific data into clear visuals and tailoring solutions to our clients' specific needs, Michael is a vital part of our #team. His expertise includes #datavisualization, #temperaturesimulations, and #heattransport. In his role, Michael develops a cutting-edge model for the temperature development in the #reactor. This involves exchanging heat between the heating medium in the jacket and the liquid inside the reactor vessel. The great advantage of our technology is that it only requires data available in the plant control system, such as the flow rate of the heating medium, temperature, and pressure. 🔬 This is what motivates him daily: Michael thrives on identifying problems that currently have no solutions and developing innovative approaches to tackle them. He enjoys the freedom to delve into new topics, discuss them with his team, and continuously evolve his ideas. The ability to explore new research, stay ahead of industry trends, and create practical solutions that make a tangible impact on our clients' operations is what keeps him motivated every day. Plus, who doesn't love being the one who finally cracks the puzzle everyone else gave up on?  🏆 His greatest challenges and successes: One of Michael's most significant #challenges and #successes was simulating the heat transfer coefficient during heat transport. This task took 18 months of continuous effort and adjustments before achieving values that matched those in the literature across the entire reactor height. This breakthrough not only validated our approach but also provided valuable insights for future projects. True to his motto, “Let's take it to the next level”, Michael continually seeks ways to #innovate. He excels at making complex scientific concepts accessible and collaborates closely with clients to analyze and optimize their systems. We love that he’s always ready to push the boundaries, even if it means a few sleepless nights. 😴 ⛵ His hobbies: Outside of work, Michael finds solace in nature. 🌲 His hobbies include sailing, mountaineering, and biking. Fun fact: During mountaineering, he once mentioned he constantly fears a surprise attack from a cow. Biking, however, has its risks—last year, a biking accident kept him out of the office for a while. We all hope we've learned our lesson from that! 👻 But overall, these activities help Michael return to the office with fresh ideas and renewed energy. 🙌
