Textile waste is one of the largest contributors to Australia’s waste problem. Across the nation, every person disposes approximately 23 kilograms of clothing to landfill (on average) each year. Recognising this problem, the ACCIONA Georgiou Joint Venture team working on QLD’s largest road project is doing their part to kerb textile waste when it comes to worn out, old high vis on site. They have a high vis recycling program through BlockTexx in place on site where workers can drop off their old high vis shirts and other personal protective clothing items for recycling into polymer mulch for reuse in landscaping on construction sites. This is a great example of a true circular economy. #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet #ACCIONAteam #recycling #circulareconomy

What happens after a TBM finishes tunnelling? Elsie and Phyllis, the mighty TBMs, have finished carving through Vancouver's challenging terrain on the #BroadwaySubwayProject . Next comes the intricate process of disassembling these one-million-kilogram giants. One piece at a time, the team meticulously breaks down the machines, preparing the tunnels for the next phase of development. This transition marks a crucial step after tunnelling – and setting the stage for tracks, electrical systems, and other vital infrastructure. The video offers a unique glimpse into this complex operation, highlighting the precision and expertise required to transform raw tunnels into future subway lines. Spanning the globe, ACCIONA is passionate about creating sustainable infrastructure - like the Broadway Subway Project – to connect communities in a safer, faster, and more environmentally friendly way. #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet #ACCIONAteam

At ACCIONA, we’re constantly fostering unique opportunities for our team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse projects and solutions we create. Our Legal and Commercial Teams took the opportunity to step out of the office and into the field to visit one of our major projects. This visit provided a rare glimpse into the dynamic world of construction while our ‘legal eagles’ delivered essential training for the project's contract, commercial, and finance teams. Such experiences are invaluable, allowing our office-based team members to better understand the practical challenges and innovative solutions that define our projects. If you're looking to broaden your horizons and be part of a team that values diverse perspectives and hands-on experiences, consider joining the #ACCIONAteam. Together, we can build a more sustainable future. Michelle Gaze, Aaron Williams, Matthew O'Brien, Jonathan Harrison, Larina Winter #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet

Tunnelling Complete! Our Tunnel Boring Machines reach their final destination. Another double-tunnel breakthrough signifies the final breakthrough in an 18-month tunnelling journey which has carved out two, 11-kilometre tunnels from The Bays to Sydney Olympic Park. This engineering feat excavated over 2 million tonnes of material and installed more than 72,000 tunnel segments. Congratulations to the Sydney Metro West #ACCIONAteam on achieving this milestone! We're proud to be part of Sydney's evolving landscape, building sustainable infrastructure to connect communities and shape the future of urban living. #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet
