Congratulations to iLAuNCH partner, New Frontier Technologies, on winning the prestigious JEC 2025 Innovation Award in the Digital, AI & Data category! Their groundbreaking project, DigiTwin 3D Imaging and Virtual Testing, showcases excellence in carbon fibre composite technology for space applications. This innovation enables detailed 3D quality assessments and high-fidelity virtual testing, ensuring that performance requirements are meticulously met. This is a very important and necessary consideration for high-performance fibre reinforced composites. New Frontier Technologies has already used the DigiTwin capability to benefit an iLAuNCH project to develop launch vehicle structures. It enabled efficient optimisation of the design and additive manufacture of a carbon composite rocket body that successfully ran to the required qualification vibration level without damage using the NASA Sounding Rocket random input vibration profile.
