#ICYMI there's an interesting article from the Office of National Intelligence on 'Structuring your Thinking and Structured Analytic Techniques'. This method helps you gather and identify information in a systematic way, useful for both policy development and intelligence work. If you find it interesting and you work for the Commonwealth government, you can sign up for the 'Introduction to Structured Analytic Techniques' course through NIA Learning. To stay updated on new learning and development resources across the APS, subscribe to the MyAcademy newsletter. https://lnkd.in/gxWxvp9J #OurAPS #Upskill

The APS aims to reflect Australia's diverse population at all levels, particularly in senior positions. To track progress, a benchmark of 24% CALD SES representation has been set. We will collaborate with agencies to implement this benchmark, focusing on ensuring cultural safety, strengthening cultural literacy and capability, and removing structural barriers. Reporting will be conducted on a whole-of-APS basis, with individual agency heads being held accountable for progress. This approach acknowledges the importance of diversity in leadership and aims to create a more inclusive and representative APS that can effectively serve Australia's diverse communities. Great to build regional university talent pipelines for the APS data and digital workforce! #OurAPS
Ronan was drawn to studying data science because of the unique overlap of statistics and computer science. 💻 Alongside studying a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Data Science, he is undertaking a cadetship with the Australian Public Service. We are proud to be the home to one of only two Australian Public Service Commission Academy Campuses in the country, giving our students access to valuable work experience while they study.

This World Mental Health Day, consider how you might strengthen your skills of connecting with those around you. Being able to connect with others is both a skill and an essential part of maintaining our mental health. Practicing this skill can help to build a positive culture in the workplace. All Australian public servants have access to ‘Connections: core capabilities for workplace peer supporters’ an e-learning suite on APSLearn, it provides foundational skills of deep listening, boundary setting, and creating safe and supportive spaces. World Mental Health Day is a reminder to make the time to check in with ourselves and with those around us. To register for the Connections course, visit theAPSLearn website: https://lnkd.in/g-my9qSR The themes of this message and of World Mental Health Day may be emotionally impactful to some people.
