Charlotte is not only an ambassador for Down Syndrome, she is also an ambassador for Clubs in the ACT, and as it turns out quite the media personality too! Charlotte will be on The Project this evening on Channel 10 to showcase her work at EASTLAKE GROUP and to talk about subminimum wages! She also met with the Guardian (see link). Clubs are a great employer of many different diverse backgrounds and should be celebrated that they provided opportunities for people like Charlotte living with a disability - they pay full award wages….and have never offered subminimum wages for the work they perform.

Reflecting on one incredible year of partnership with the Canberra Hospital Foundation and raising nearly $40,000 for the Compete for OUR HEART challenge!! A huge thank you to the Canberra Hospital Foundation for their inspiring partnership, and to Susan Proctor for not only presenting the Heart of the Community - Club of the Year awards but also for taking on the role of dedicated taste tester for the Best Burger competition! 🍔 Her commitment (and the team of burger-loving judges!) was key in crowning Thoroughbred Park’s ‘Feed the Seoul’ (Small Club) and EASTLAKE GROUP’s ‘CHF Chicken Burger’ (Large Club) as this year’s champions. Congratulations as well to Canberra Southern Cross Club (Large Club) and the Harmonie German Club Canberra (Small Club) for being awarded Heart of the Community - Club of the Year, representing the incredible dedication of our clubs to community support. Thank you to every club, volunteer, and community member who made this year such a success. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Canberra!"
Celebrating one year of the Canberra Hospital Foundation and Clubs ACT partnership! The ClubsACT Clubs and Community Awards Night 2024 showed how Canberra's clubs rallied behind the Canberra Hospital Foundation and helped to raise almost $40,000 in the Compete for OUR HEART challenge. Susan Proctor had the privilege of presenting the Heart of the Community - Club of the Year award to Canberra Southern Cross Club (Large Club) and the Harmonie German Club Canberra (Small Club). The Awards Night also saw the crowning of Thoroughbred Park's ‘Feed the Seoul’ burger (Small Club category) and EASTLAKE GROUP's ‘CHF Chicken Burger’ (Large Club category) as winners in the Best Burger competition. Susan Proctor took part in the secret judging with her dedicated burger-eating devotees, trying enough burgers in three weeks to put her off anything in a bun until at least the new year!
