Jonas Jacobsen, one of our founders at Energise Renewables and the Development Director of Pilot Energy Limited, attended the #H2Meet event in South Korea, as part of the Australian delegation organised by #Austrade. #H2Meet is a global event dedicated to the hydrogen industry, showcasing innovations and advancements in hydrogen technology. Held annually at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX), the event brings together key players from across the hydrogen value chain, including government leaders, industry experts, and researchers. It serves as a platform for international collaboration, networking, and discussions on the role of hydrogen in the global energy transition, highlighting South Korea's leadership in advancing a sustainable hydrogen economy. During the week Jonas also managed to attend "South Korea Power and Renewables Briefing” hosted by #WoodMacKenzie, meet up with current and future partners in the Korean energy sector as well as the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Jeff Robinson.
South Korea is leading the way globally in the development of a #hydrogen economy and this was evident at #H2Meet, an international event covering the hydrogen industry at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (#KINTEX). Pilot Energy Limited’s (ASX:PGY) Development Director Jonas Jacobsen attended as part of the Australian delegation and we’re grateful to Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) for hosting the delegation and facilitating a catch-up with the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Jeff Robinson to update him on the latest developments from Pilot’s Mid West Clean Energy project. Pilot was also delighted to sponsor the Mix at Six networking event organized by Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea. #ASX #PGY #carbonstorage #CCS #CCUS #cleanenergy #energytransition #netzero

It was great to be onsite at the future site of the Geelong Renewable Energy Terminal at GeelongPort this morning. It was a pleasure hearing from the GeelongPort team about the proposed development, and aim to be part of a multi-port solution for offshore wind in Victoria. Without enabling infrastructure such as construction/assembly ports offshore wind will not eventuate. I commend their approach to minimize potential impacts and therefore possible delays to allow for an operational solution by 2029 to enable the first 2GW of offshore wind in Victoria by 2032. There is clear interest and support from the Committee for Geelong, Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, and State Member for Lara Ella George who were all present today to discuss this is a great opportunity for Geelong. As a Geelong local I'm excited that one day I might see offshore wind components transiting in and out of Corio Bay.

🚀 GWEC is back at WindEnergy Hamburg this year with the Global Markets Theatre in the very heart of the exhibition floor! 🔦 Day 1 | 24 September 2024 | 16:00-17:00pm | Australia – How to turn an emerging offshore wind market into an established market - Sponsored by Energise Renewables Moderator: Stewart Mullin, Chief Industry Officer, Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Setting the Scene Presentation: Steven Taylor, Australian Offshore Infrastructure Registrar Panellists: ➡️Naomi Campbell, Development Director, Energise Renewables ➡️Mr. Tejjas Parmar, CEO International Business, Suzlon Energy Limited, Pune ➡️Myriam Samba, Head of Government & Regulatory Affairs, BlueFloat Energy ➡️Michael Hannibal, Partner, CIP ➡️Casper Frost Thorhauge, Senior Vice President, Head of Americas, Skyborn Renewables 🌍 Australia is in the nascent stages of adopting offshore wind into its energy markets. Declaration Areas have been established off the coasts of Gippsland (VIC) (including award of 12 Feasibility Licenses), Hunter (NSW), Southern Ocean (VIC) and the Illawarra (NSW), with two further Declaration Areas anticipated for the Bass Strait (TAS) and Bunbury (WA) before the end of the year (2024). The Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 also provides a strong regulatory framework for offshore electricity infrastructure projects and activities undertaken in Commonwealth waters. Given the scale and risk profile of investments needed to develop offshore wind, improving investment certainty for developers of those projects is critical for the sector to realise its full potential and to transition from a nascent to an established industry. The ways and means by which this can be done will be discussed at this session with an opening update on the evolving role of the Registrar. 🎟️ Buy your WindEnergy Hamburg ticket today for free access to GWEC's Global Markets Theatre at the event: https://lnkd.in/etd_Hzbr 🤝 Sponsoring the Global Markets Theatre.
