An Australia that wants to build things again starts with a strong and productive mining industry 🏗️ As a country, we need to double down on what we are best at – producing the minerals and metals required to support Australian industry, so that we can continue to boost growth, productivity and jobs for all Australians. Our new report, Minerals-Plus, sets out a comprehensive strategy to do just that. You can read it here or download it at 👉 https://minera.ls/pluspdf

Minerals Council of Australia reposted this
In the last couple of months the Teacher Earth Science Education Program (TESEP) has provided training to a number of science teachers in Wodonga, Albury, Maryborough, Echuca, Bendigo and Corryong to give teachers the skills and confidence to deliver the earth science curriculum and inspire more students to study geology. Visits include a rock kit for schools to use into the future put together by dedicated geo scientists and universities. Thanks to Dr Rod Boucher for delivering the program, and to Dart Mining for supporting the Wodonga and Corryong visits including a fantastic field trip for teachers to Dart’s Wodonga core shed. AIG, MCA and a number of mining and renewable energy companies support TESEP to provide essential earth science training to teachers and inspiration for students.

It's no secret that Australia’s second straight budget surplus is a result of the ongoing strength and reliance of Australian mining. Major mining commodities continue to make large contributions to Australia’s export earnings, with iron ore contributing $138 billion, metallurgical coal $54 billion, thermal coal $37.2 billion and gold $33 billion.

Australia’s second straight budget surplus is a result of the ongoing strength and reliance of Australian mining. The Department of Industry, Science and Resources' September Resources and Energy Quarterly (REQ) shows that while lower prices were having an impact, our major mining commodities continued to make large contributions to Australia’s export earnings, with iron ore contributing $138 billion, metallurgical coal $54 billion, thermal coal $37.2 billion and gold $33 billion. It is clear mining remains the cornerstone of the economy, but there are distinct challenges emerging. Read full media release: https://minera.ls/22ki
