It's International Day of Education! In celebration of this day, we're sharing the story of Torren, a 16-year-old from Lismore, who is turning his passion for technology into a future career with the support of Social Futures Clubhouse and the Clubhouse to Career (C2C) program. At Social Futures Clubhouse, Torren began exploring advanced coding platforms, which sparked his passion for game design. Motivated to learn more, Torren reached out to B.E.E.R (Brewed Engagement Extended Reality) Labs - an interactive software development lab - to undertake work experience. B.E.E.R Labs research and develop the latest video games, interactive experiences and industrial applications in the XR space. During his work experience, Torren learnt how the Unity game engine works and how to code with C#, which resulted in him successfully creating a 3D platformer! The B.E.E.R Labs team also helped Torren find a university in Lismore that offers courses aligning with his aspirations. This experience has provided Torren with a clear vision for his future career as a computer programmer. The future of tech is bright, and Torren is on track to make an impact! Social Futures Clubhouse is part of The Clubhouse Network, a program of the Museum of Science, Boston in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab. Meet some of the talented artists behind the incredible artwork showcased at Art Without Limits in Murwillumbah last month. Art Without Limits invited audiences to see the world through the eyes of talented artists with disability, neurodivergent artists, and d/Deaf artists. The exhibition was a true celebration of creativity, connection, and community. Thank you M-Arts Precinct for hosting Art Without Limits. In partnership with Tweed Shire Council. #ArtWithouthLimits #DisabilityInclusion #Murwillumbah #WeAreSocialFutures

We'd love to share with you Art Without Limits, an all-abilities art exhibition which showcased works from across the Tweed Shire and beyond. Over 80 people attended the opening night event at M|Arts Precinct, Murwillumbah, which was launched by Tweed Shire Mayor, Chris Cherry, and attended by artists, family, friends and art enthusiasts. The exhibition was delivered by a huge team of volunteers involved (over 20 people) – from setting up, curating, opening night, hosting gallery viewings, as well as collaborating with all the artists, promotion, photography, and administration. Such a great celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). #ArtWithoutLimits #WeAreSocialFutures #DisabilityInclusion #TweedDisabilityNetworkWorkingGroup #MArtsPrecinct Tweed Shire Council National Disability Insurance Agency
