Updates

  • Terramin at the final juncture before embarking on the development of the Tala Hamza Zinc Project.   Our management team has been hard at work to secure financing and onboard world-class contractors for the development of Tala Hamza. This is a critical activity as these new partners will help us extract the full potential of the project.    Being one of the largest undeveloped zinc and lead mine in the world, Tala Hamza is expected to create 4,800 job opportunities, both direct and indirect, in Algeria. This has resulted in strong backing from the Algerian government as they played an active role in the acquisition of 234 hectares of land to support the development of Tala Hamza.   Investors who have just joined Terramin on this journey, have a look at the milestones thus far.   #mining #ASX #zinc

  • #Zinc is the 4th most used metal in the world – largely utilised as a protective coating for iron and steel. Zinc’s demand is steadily growing especially as the world moves towards #energytransition. It plays an indispensable role in building #renewableenergy infrastructure among other things as seen below.  According to the International Zinc Association, demand for zinc in the renewable energy sector is projected to reach 525K tonnes by 2030.   Our CEO, Martin Janes, predicts that zinc prices are poised to increase beyond USD 3000 per tonne as the world invests in energy transition - all while traditional zinc applications remain intact.

Terramin’s CEO Martin Janes, recently sat down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson over a zoom interview discussing the flagship Tala Hamza Zinc Project.    With zinc supply projected to be in deficit, Terramin’s Tala Hamza Zinc Project is in a unique position to fill the industry’s supply gaps. The Tala Hamza contains 53 million tonnes of high-grade zinc and lead ore.    In the interview, Martin provides a breakdown on Tala Hamza’s unique strengths and why he thinks Terramin is 5 to 10 years ahead of its peers:    ·     20-year mine life at a low-cost operating base  ·     Achievement of necessary mining permits and environmental approvals with strong government support  ·     Amazing infrastructure in the vicinity – International airport, Deepwater port and proximity to European zinc smelters    Terramin is now in the midst of negotiating construction contracts and finalising the financing of this world-class project. • Terramin at inflexion point The price of Zinc has been at the bottom of the cycle despite its record high of US$4,800 per tonne in March 2022 – dropping halfway to a trading price of US$2,500. Our CEO, Martin Janes shares that the cycle is about to see a turnaround with recent zinc supply constraints and declining ore grades in new mines. Other factors such as rising production costs and inflation will likely support an uptrend in zinc prices as well. With the recent commencement of Terramin’s Tala Hamza project, Terramin is positioned at a pivotal moment – after satisfying all Algerian regulatory, financial and environmental requirements. Tala Hamza is potentially one of the world’s largest undeveloped zinc and lead mine, and Terramin is excited as they begin finalising construction vendors to unlock the final phase before development.
