We are excited to announce we have completed the acquisition of the OCI Clean Ammonia Project in Beaumont, Texas. The project is targeting first production in 2025 and the production of lower-carbon ammonia, using carbon sequestration, from 2026. For context, ammonia is a vital commodity used today in fertilisers and chemical processes. In the future, demand for lower carbon ammonia is expected to grow for new uses, including in power generation, marine bunkering and as a hydrogen carrier. This acquisition, with a total purchase price of approximately US$2.35 billion, is our biggest investment in new energy to date and tangible evidence of our commitment to the energy transition and its success. 🏗 Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire is one of the 87 local businesses engaged to work on the Scarborough Energy Project. Established by Murujuga Commercial Limited, the company is a joint venture with Boddingtons Hire and provides a range of lifting equipment to support the construction of the Project's Pluto Train 2 in Karratha. Derek (Jig) Albert, Murujuga Commercial Limited Managing Director said the contract with Bechtel Corporation, Woodside's lead contractor on Pluto Train 2 had been an enormous stepping stone for their business. “It has given our business the confidence to invest in our own equipment which will drive equity for the business and in turn provide a direct return to Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation members,” said Jig. The Scarborough Energy Project has invested more than $115 million with Karratha-based businesses and will generate more than 3,000 construction phase jobs in WA. Earlier this month, an important piece of infrastructure arrived at the Scarborough Energy Project's Pluto Train 2 site - the domestic gas or 'domgas' module! The module, which was recently installed, weighs over 1,500 tonnes. The module will connect to the 'domgas' export compressor, which arrived in May. Once operational, the equipment will provide up to 225 terajoules of gas a day to the WA market. 📷 Courtesy of Bechtel Corporation

Our CEO Meg O'Neill has represented Woodside at the 100th Society of Petroleum Engineers International’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, speaking on a panel moderated by Elena Melchert (R), alongside Halliburton's Jeff Miller, Tayba Al Hashemi and John Lindsay. Meg shared that she is proud of the amazing contribution engineers have made to the world and human progress since the first ATCE conference in 1924. She added that while she doesn’t use the equations she learnt during her engineering studies as often as she once did, she is incredibly grateful for the critical thinking and collaboration skills engineering taught her. Congratulations and happy 100th birthday SPE ATCE! #ATCE #engineering #energy
