We are pleased to invite you to participate in SAFE’s 2024 Annual Conference, entitled Consumers Come First: Defining Sustainable Food Systems, which will take place on 19th November 2024 (09:30 – 17:30) at 🏢 The Northern Ireland Executive Office, located at located at Chaussee d’Etterbeek 180, 1040 Brussels. This important event will bring together key stakeholders, policymakers, experts, and citizens from across Europe to engage in critical discussions about the future of food safety and sustainability in the EU. The main themes of this year's conference are transparency, inclusion, awareness and labelling, with a focus on the issues that matter most to consumers and stakeholders alike. Our program will feature panel discussions and presentations on a range of pressing topics, including: - The regulation of food labelling, including natural claims - Food waste reduction strategies - Addressing non-communicable diseases - Acrylamide and its impact on food safety - The role of ultra-processed foods in the modern diet 🥓 🍭 A highlight of the event will be the presentation of findings from SAFE’s recent survey on European consumers’ perceptions of food labeling, specifically the use of the term "natural."
