🚀 Exciting progress in European space technology! We recently held a productive workshop as part of our ongoing European space project, bringing together the Space USB consortium and our Advisory Board. The focus of this second session was twofold: 🔧 Finalizing the specifications for a universal, serial connector (similar to USB) capable of mechanically connecting two space elements and enabling data and power transfer once assembled in orbit. 💡 Debating the demonstration of prototypes in a laboratory environment. These prototypes will play a crucial role in advancing On-Orbit Servicing and assembly technologies. This marks a major step for our project milestones and towards enabling future space missions with modular, easily assembled components. We're excited about the collaborative effort driving this innovation forward! Thanks to our esteemed partners for their involvement and participation : Thales Alenia Space, Sener Aerospace & Defence, Space Applications Services NV/SA , iBOSS, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), In Extenso Innovation Croissance , SpaceLocker, Airbus Defence and Space, European Space Agency - ESA, OHB SE, German Aerospace Center (DLR). Stay tuned for more updates on this game-changing technology. 🌟 #SpaceTechnology #EuropeanInnovation #OnOrbitServicing #SpaceUSB #InnovationInSpace #HorizonEurope
