Last week, we kicked off our annual United Way campaign by welcoming the United Way Southern Vancouver Island and Esquimalt Neighbourhood House Society to our Victoria office to share how non-profits in our communities are helping fight food insecurity. BCIers also got out to volunteer at LifeCycles Project Society’s Welland Community Orchard, a United Way-supported organization focused on building a resilient food system in Greater Victoria. Throughout the remainder of our campaign, employees will be fundraising for the United Way, collecting nonperishables for local organizations, and volunteering to help address critical areas of need in our communities. We are proud of the commitment of our people to making a positive impact! Learn more about how we give back at BCI.ca/community #BuildingMeaningfulFutures #community #UnitedWay #giving

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day that honours the lost children, Survivors, families, and communities impacted by the residential school system in Canada. As we reflect on the painful history of residential schools and the intergenerational impact on Indigenous Peoples and communities across the country, we are reminded that truth and reconciliation is a year-round commitment. We all have a role in the collective journey towards truth and reconciliation.
