Yesterday Dignity Network Canada along with our members and partners Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) and Pride Toronto organized a really timely and important conversation on the way that media in Canada are covering both local 2SLGBTIQ and global LGBTIQ issues. Huge thank you to my colleague Emmett Mark for moderating the conversation and our stellar panelists, former Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Globe and Mail Deputy National Editor Rachel Giese and Louisa Wall, former NZ Member of Parliament and this year's Pride Toronto International Grand Marshal. Huge thanks to Bill Killorn, Mujtaba Haris and the rest of the JHR team for their collaboration and making this a great discussion on the challenges of covering SOGIESC issues and human rights today at home and abroad.

Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) in Mali is committed to empowering youth through media literacy and civic engagement. With the support of the National Endowment for Democracy, we have trained 299 youth, including 191 girls. They're making a real difference in the community.

I’m happy to share that I’ll be working at CANADALAND for the summer as one of two journalism fellows, alongside Leora Schertzer. This is part of their Audio Journalism Fellowship Program delivered in partnership with Journalists for Human Rights (JHR). I’ll be working on a personal, creative project with the support of Canadaland’s news team. It’s rare to have the opportunity to divest my energy completely into something so intimate to me and I’m grateful for the space to do so. A big thank you to Shari Okeke, Amanda Cupido, Mariana S. and everyone else who supported me through the application process. I can’t wait to share my work with you! 😙

We are extremely saddened by the passing of Christophe Deloire, Secretary General of Reporters Without Borders (RSF) A true champion of freedom of expression and press freedom and a great partner of Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) and journalists worldwide. His remarkable legacy will endure.
