Meet the Team! Zach brings expertise in Business Development to Kanin Energy. Before Kanin, Zach time at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Houston, specializing in energy, industrial goods, and climate & sustainability consulting. He focused his work on #decarbonization strategy and clean technology commercialization with many Fortune 500 companies to accelerate the adoption of a wide range of emerging technologies, including e-fuels, biofuels, #CCUS, carbon dioxide removal, green cement, steel, aluminum & plastics, renewable power & battery storage. He has additionally published multiple white papers in collaboration with the World Economic Forum on the topic of #energy transition & industrial decarbonization. Through her leadership, Kanin Energy is transforming waste heat into reliable, carbon-free energy, enabling industries to reduce emissions while driving economic growth. Kanin Energy’s approach innovates on both technology and business models. The company develops waste heat to power projects, turning the half of industrial energy wasted as heat into clean power. By adopting lessons from solar and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) models, Kanin makes these projects accessible to large industrial partners by providing capital and managing the entire development process, removing barriers for companies to adopt sustainable practices. Turning a “no-brainer” solution into reality wasn’t easy. By combining technical expertise with strategic selling and relationship-building, Janice and her team navigated complex decision-making processes, unlocking new opportunities and partnerships. Kanin recently celebrated a major milestone with the groundbreaking of a waste heat to power project in partnership with Tallgrass , bringing 24/7 carbon-free energy to the University of Dayton. This achievement reflects Janice’s ability to turn challenges into opportunities, showcasing how waste heat can become a valuable resource for cleaner, more reliable energy. Recognized by the Houston Business Journal as one of Houston’s Women Who Mean Business, Janice is shaping the future of industrial decarbonization in a city she describes as having “energy in its DNA.” She believes Houston’s entrepreneurial spirit, capital, and expertise make it the perfect launchpad for next-generation energy solutions. Reflecting on her journey, Janice emphasizes the importance of people: “Great ideas require great teams. Meet the Team! Eeshwar Dutt brings extensive commercial experience across multiple sectors to the Kanin team. Before joining Kanin, he served as an Associate on the Commodities Structured Finance Desk at Goldman Sachs, where he conducted in-depth analyses and due diligence to create tailored financing solutions for clients in the oil and gas, power, and bulk materials industries. He also actively managed the risk of the existing $2 billion portfolio. Before Goldman Sachs, Eeshwar was a Corporate Finance Analyst at Peters & Co. Limited, an independent investment dealer specializing in the Canadian energy sector. During his time there, he contributed to the completion of several M&A transactions and equity financings, with a transaction value totaling nearly $2 billion. Exciting news! Kanin is thrilled to announce the ground breaking of our Dayton Community Power project in partnership with Tallgrass Energy. Together, we're building a first-of-its-kind waste heat to power facility in Washington Court House, Ohio.   This innovative project will harness industrial heat from this natural gas compressor station to generate carbon-free, reliable energy. Once operational, the facility is expected to deliver approximately 10 MW of carbon-free power around the clock, starting in 2025.   Thanks to everyone who joined us in celebrating this milestone as we pave the way for more waste heat to power projects.
