This week saw the 14th edition of Northland Properties' Summer Survivorship, our annual office sporting event. Our people are the foundation behind our growth and success and this yearly gathering allows team members across all of our brands and departments to unwind, reconnect, and have fun. In partnership with Northland Cares, we are delighted to share the incredible results of the national fundraising initiative Dencan Restaurants Inc. held earlier this Summer in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC). With thanks to their loyal and valued guests, Denny's Canada successfully 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $21,000 by donating $2 from every Berry Stuffed French Toast Slam ordered between June 11 - 25 in participating locations. This substantial amount will go towards providing Canadian youth with the opportunities to reach their full potential and ensure a strong continuation of support for local communities. For over 110 years, BBBSC has worked within local communities to ignite the power and potential of young people, championing the health and well-being of youth. For 30 incredible years, Geoffrey Argue has held the role of Chef Concierge at The Sutton Place Hotels Vancouver. Organized over two nights with 200 attendees welcomed, 2024 marks the 3rd year of this exciting local partnership. Special guests in attendance included Bernard Weiser (Supervising Sound Editor & President of the Entertainment Industry Professionals Mentoring Alliance - EIPMA), 𝗞𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿 (Director & Writer, The Steak), 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝗴𝗶 𝗗𝗶 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗲 (Actor, Shooting Watermelons), Mark Lanza MPSE (Sound Supervisor, Sony Pictures Studios), 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 (Director & Writer, The Pleasure is All Mine), and this year’s Sandra Piccolo: Trailblazer Award recipient, Kimberly Jimenez (Senior Vice President of Post Production Services, Sony Pictures Entertainment).   Based in a neighboring city of Toronto, VFF celebrated the 13th edition of the festival this year. The popular event aims to provide a platform supporting both experienced and aspiring filmmakers while building valued in-person connections between independent creators and film fans. The VFF team received a record number of entries with over 200 different films from 40 countries across the globe submitted for consideration. Narrowed down to 17 fantastic features from 10 countries, including Brazil, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the scene was set for the most anticipated screenings yet.   Chop is incredibly proud to be a part of this annual collaboration, supporting this incredible not-for-profit organization with ensuring future investment and security for the future of the short film industry.   Congratulations to all the team members involved with this successful event, we’re already looking forward to next year.
