Over the past 3-4 months, I've had over 100 conversations with business leaders across multiple verticals and segments.
The topic? AI. What is it to you, what are you doing with it? It's been a research mission.
These conversations were majority AI generated, there was very little discretion in who I targeted.
Important Note: I wouldn't have been able to do this with traditional tech, it would have been too time consuming to perform the outreach and to book these calls. The process was entirely automated.
The evolution of these discussions has gone from "AI is scary, AI is over-rated" to "We're embedding it into our business processes, we're able to do more with less", "we're ready for more, show me what you're working on".
Executives are increasingly well educated on the opportunities ahead. AI is less mystery, more opportunity.
It's a great reminder that willingness to adopt and product market fit are moving targets based on many factors outside of your control.
It's also clear that Jevon's paradox is real. AI isn't going to replace jobs, it's going to enhance productivity.
In other words: Increased efficiency is counter-productive to reducing consumption.
In other, other words: The more productive we become, the cheaper it is to be productive, the more productive we are.
I literally had dreams about this paradox last night.
