Zero Net Carbon Collaboration for Existing and Historic Buildings reposted this
Built Buildings Lab is proud to lead the Decarbonizing the Built Environment Through Heritage (DBTH) initiative as part of the Climate Heritage Network Imagining Futures project. In collaboration with Lisa Richmond representing Architecture 2030 and mokolade JOHNSON of University of Lagos, this initiative seeks to integrate transformative, cultural heritage-based solutions into climate policy at all scales. Over the next two years, the team will work closely with Climate Heritage Network members and community organizations to: 🔹 Collect examples of inspiring, replicable building decarbonization solutions 🔹 Identify key policy levers to scale these solutions 🔹 Create communication resources to empower local, regional, and global advocates 🔹 Launch a local to global knowledge-sharing campaign We are particularly excited to engage with our community advisors Agnes Scott College center for sustainability, Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, Southwest Folklife Alliance, and Latinos in Heritage Conservation to make sure the outcomes of this project are truly serving those engaged in cultural heritage and climate action. Gratitude to the Mellon Foundation and The 1772 Foundation, Inc. for supporting this important work.
