It was a real pleasure to present our work on the InBestSoil project, as well as demo our bespoke farm benchmarking app, at the Bundesamt für Landwirtschaft BLW in Bern this morning. Thank you very much Bernard Belk and Markus Wildisen for the invitation. Christian Grovermann and I very much enjoyed the opportunity to talk with you and your teams, and took a lot away with us from the engaging discussions with all of those who were present. There were great ideas shared for how to move forward with the app and also many interesting ideas for digging deeper into the topic of soil health in our future research. We will be sure to keep you informed as to how we progress! Forschungsinstitut für biologischen Landbau FiBL Bundesamt für Landwirtschaft BLW InBestSoil #InBestSoil #SoilHealth #FutureFarming

🌽 🍇 Why do farmers worldwide adopt organic agriculture? 👨🌾 👩🌾 Which (policy) measured are required to scale up organic agriculture? 🌍 How to adapt measures to globally heterogeneous agricultural systems? If you are interested in these questions read our new article (open access): https://lnkd.in/eCye236t (a) 💡 We conducted a systematic, global literature review of over scientific 18,000 references. (b) 💡 We mapped the existing research and identified substantial gaps regarding the research focus, methodology and geographical coverage. (c) 💡 We provide an overview of evidence-based recommendations to scale organic adoption worldwide. (d) 💡 We use data on global heterogeneity of agriculture to find how measures should be adapted to context. We will soon also publish a policy brief, synthesizing our main findings.
