In today's People in Novartis feature, you will have the opportunity to meet Willian Benetti Barbosa, originally from Brazil. He is a highly motivated professional who has shown great interest in the Czech Market in Prague. Willian joined Novartis in February 2021, bringing his expertise in procurement and language skills to the team. He currently works as a Cluster Procurement Manager, supporting the Market Insights and Patient Program categories in WEC and SERCE countries. In addition to his work in Procurement (one of the biggest divisions of our Novartis Corporate Centre Prague), Willian actively participates also in one of our Employee Resource Groups. Outside of work, he enjoys food blogging and staying active. With his strong work ethic and adaptability, Willian is making a positive impact in Prague, which he believes to be the most beautiful city in the world (and we agree with him :)

As Pride Week begins in the Czech Republic, our Pride ERG commemorates the significant role our company played last year in signing an open letter to the Prime Minister, advocating for equal marriage and family rights. In order to further support this cause, members of our Pride ERG, along with other ERGs, have filmed short video clips expressing what family means to them. We believe that love, support, and understanding are fundamental principles that define the true meaning of family, regardless of its structure. By advocating for equal marriage and family rights, we are creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that fosters employee satisfaction and drives innovation.

Since the middle of June, we have welcomed over 60 new colleagues who will be joining our main divisions, IMI, GDD, and most importantly, our corporate center, NOCC. Sandra Sanchez Blanco comes from the Oncology division in Spain, where she managed the Breast Cancer team in various marketing and sales roles. She successfully expanded the team to compete in the EU5 market. Sandra has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in pharma, onco, and hematology. She started her career in sales and later transitioned to marketing as a brand manager. Sandra is a Biotechnologist with a master's degree in pharmaceutical marketing and an MBA. She is passionate about her work and strives to make a lasting impact on both teams and patients. Sandra relocated to Prague at the beginning of the year and is excited to explore Czech culture. As seen in the picture, she has already started by embracing the Czech mascot Krtek. In her free time, Sandra enjoys playing paddle tennis and traveling around the world.

This July, Novartis proudly joins Disability Pride Month, reaffirming our commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities. One of the most significant events co-organized by this group was the Paraple 2024 event, a charity run supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries. This event, offering both virtual and in-person participation, highlighted the importance of inclusivity and community support. Together, our associates covered over 1400 km by foot, showcasing their personal dedication and our broader mission to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace. These events play a pivotal role in promoting inclusivity and providing support to those who need it most.
