The 405th Army Field Support Brigade hosted key leaders from one of its U.S. Army Sustainment Command sister brigades at the 405th AFSB headquarters and at two of its Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 worksites Sept. 10-12. The 405th AFSB welcomed the 401st Army Field Support Brigade to Europe Sept. 10 followed by site visits to the Coleman and Eygelshoven APS-2 worksites Sept. 11 and 12 to collaborate and discuss best practices. A staff delegation from the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Embassy Warsaw in Poland conducted a site visit to the US Army’s newest, most modern Army Prepositioned Stocks worksite in Powidz, Poland, Sept. 5. The delegation visited the Powidz APS-2 worksite to assess and provide first-hand information and knowledge on APS-2 operations in Poland back to Congress. The 405th Army Field Support Brigade bid farewell to Joe Scheff and his family and celebrated their remarkable contributions and unwavering support to Team 405 at a special dinner engagement and recognition ceremony Sept. 6 at a local restaurant in Kaiserslautern 🇩🇪. Scheff was the brigade’s esteemed deputy to the commander for the last couple of years, and before that he was the DCO at one of the battalions. But he was more than just the DCO; he was the heart of the 405th AFSB. He lifted morale across the brigade everywhere he went and every time he spoke. He surely will be missed by all upon his departure. Scheff’s next assignment is at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch 🇩🇪 where he’ll enter a Master’s of Arts program in International Security Studies. Terrell Brisentine promoted Nathanael Love to Master Sergeant in a promotion ceremony at the 405th Army Field Support Brigade’s headquarters on Daenner Kaserne in Kaiserslautern 🇩🇪 Sept. 6. The Army’s newest Master Sergeant is a United States Army Reserve senior noncommissioned officer at the 7th Mission Support Command and a US Army Civilian at the 405th AFSB. In his civilian position, Love serves as the brigade’s future operations officer. At the 7th MSC, Love serves as a senior supply and support NCO. Unofficial.” This was the last message I received from a fellow service member and friend. I did not respond. Thirty-two days later he took his own life. 🇺🇸 FANTASTIC FIVE!!!! 🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈 US Army Sgt. 1st Class Elizabeth Marks has won her 5th Silver medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Marks and the entire U.S. Paralympics Swimming team spent nearly a week at U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart right before traveling to Paris for the 2024 Paralympic Games. While in Stuttgart, the 405th Army Field Support Brigade’s LRC Stuttgart provided transportation support to Marks and her fellow Paralympians. #RememberOurFallen A memorial ceremony was held for Jeffery Morrison at the chapel on Daenner Kaserne in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Sept. 5. In attendance were his coworkers from Logistics Readiness Center Rheinland-Pfalz and the 405th Army Field Support Brigade as well many of his close friends and family, to include his wife, Jutta Morrison, and his son, Kevin Morrison. The LRC Rheinland-Pfalz chief of transportation passed away unexpectedly Aug. 2 at the age of 65. He was well recognized across the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz community in his role managing the Drivers Testing and Training Station on Kleber Kaserne, the Kaiserslautern Military Community’s bus transportation program, the transportation motor pool next to Daenner Kaserne and the LRC’s entire transportation division. Hiram Gillyard is the acting director of maintenance at the Coleman Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 worksite in Mannheim 🇩🇪 assigned to the 405th Army Field Support Brigade's Battalion Germany.
