Over the 2023/24 season we partnered with Common Goal and teamed up with some of the most climate conscious players in world football to create something special… Together we established a player-centered community to share ideas, learn, and understand how to drive climate action and sustainable change in the world’s most popular sport ⚽️🤝🌍 This initiative has not only raised awareness but has also empowered players to take meaningful steps toward a sustainable future - swipe to see some of the impact! 🌱 We have some exciting news coming up so stay tuned 👀

We were recently at the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach to celebrate the five years impact of the adidas Breaking Barriers Project. The Breaking Barriers Project is a collaborative effort to advance gender equity and inclusion for women, girls, and non-binary people on and off the pitch.   During the week, we hosted workshops around the topics of gender equity, intersectionality, and anti-racism while exploring the focus of gender beyond binary led by Women Win, as well as engaging in play-based learning in games constructed by Soccer Without Borders. Huge thank you to adidas for their collaborative work over the past five years as we all continue to make sport more equal for women and girls. We're proud to share that our collaboration with FOX Sports around the 2023 Women's World Cup has been nominated for three Shorty Awards 👏 In the three-part series, USWNT stars Naomi Girma, Sophia Smith and Sofia Huerta opened up about their personal journeys with mental wellness. By paralleling their stories with those of young female athletes at Football for the World Foundation, Chicano Federation of San Diego County and Football for Her, the series outlined the need to embed mental health supports at every level of the game. The campaign is a finalist in three different categories at the awards - Media Partnership, Industry - Sports and Cause - Mental Health. Fancy playing at Vicarage Road to support some incredible work being done around mental health through football? Common Goal will proudly be one of the partners selected as part of The Mental Health World Cup's event on May 10 2025 to support our Create the Space programme - and I'm buzzing for it. Hours and hours of conversations with Marvin Sordell, Rebecca James, and Ben W.S. Miller have led to this point. Only to then be channelled into designing a programme with Stefan Imeson and supported by Kyoko Taylor-Edwards and Jasper Kain at Youth Beyond Borders (YBB) and we're only just getting started. The more teams, the more we raise, and the more impact we can have. So get involved! 🧠 🔋 📈

📍Poland 🇵🇱  Football is a unique opportunity to discover superpowers. Trenuj Bycie Dobrym believe in the beautiful game and the joy it can bring. An organisation which emphasies gender equality, empathy and respect all while striving to develop the superpowers of the children in the sessions they hold. Everybody is going through their own mental health journey. From the player on the pitch to the fan off it, these are human challenges that everyone has to face. On #WorldMentalHealthDay it's important to remember that you're not alone, in feeling the way you feel and in dealing with it. Power to those in football who have spoken up about their personal journey and appreciative of the inspiration their words will have on us all facing our own struggle ❤️

The 'Every Child is a Champion' project in collaboration with AMANDLA Social Enterprises and The LEGO Foundation is underway in multiple Safe-Hub Global sites across South Africa. This is the power of the project as seen in the precint in Jabulani as told by Lerato from AMANDLA Social Enterprises. Emphasising the importance of education and play through sport in a child's development. Give a child a safe place to learn and watch them grow ❤️

Although progress has been made in recent years, investment in women's sports is still significantly less than in men's. This topic is examined in the latest adidas Breaking Barriers research paper 'Beyond Representation: Exploring Comprehensive Gender - Inclusive Appproaches to Elevate Women in Professional Sport' in collaboration with Women Win and 17 Sport. The paper examines the systemic barriers that women face in sports and will be discussed by experts from the field in a webinar taking place on October 8th at 16:00 (GMT +2).
