Strengthening personal effectiveness? Expanding international thinking? Developing comprehensive thinking around business dynamics? 15 of our international talents just had the chance to do this! In the span of 12 months our promising young talents got the chance to develop and strengthen new skills by partaking in online sessions, on-site events and business simulations. Recently the 2023/24 program came to an end. To commemorate participants celebrated with an adventurous week in Bielefeld. During this week they got the opportunity to develop innovative solutions working on case studies and getting the chance to pitch them, shark tank style. Also, they got to participate in a pizza tasting and got to try out vegan recipes in the Dr. Oetker test kitchen. The most notable highlight was the Q&A session with Alexander Edelmann and Claudia Willvonseder, who are part of the executive board. The colleagues got an insight into their personal career steps, the company's strategy and future plans. Lunchtime - but make it sustainable! 🍽️ Recycling is at the heart of our sustainability commitment at Dr. Oetker. Letzte Woche feierte SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. die Fertigstellung des Umbaus eines Wohnhauses in Schwerin, in das bald eine Kinder- und Jugendwohngruppe einziehen kann. Dr. Oetker steuerte Kuchen von deinetorte.de und Pizza bei. Das „Schelfhaus“ (so genannt wegen der Schelfstraße) bietet künftig bis zu neun Kindern und Jugendlichen ein sicheres und unterstützendes Zuhause.🏠🫶 „Als Dr. Oetker von dem Vorhaben erfuhr, diesen neuen Standort umzubauen, stand schnell fest, dass es ein Projekt ist, welches das Unternehmen gern fördern möchte.“ so Ronja Berg, Projektleiterin für die Partnerschaft mit SOS-Kinderdorf. Tom Boenigk, Executive Manager People and Culture, Dr. Oetker in Wittenburg fügt hinzu: „Schön, dass wir vom Dr. Oetker Standort in #Wittenburg aus nun auch die Möglichkeit haben, hier in Schwerin aktiv zu werden. Wir freuen uns auf weitere Aktivitäten und Begegnungen." Unser Dr. Oetker Purpose „Jedem ein Gefühl von Zuhause geben.“ spiegelt sich somit auch in diesem Engagement für das „Schelfhaus“ von SOS-Kinderdorf Schwerin wider.😊

In our Dr. Oetker Sustainability Charter we have set the goal to achieve complete climate neutrality in all direct and indirect areas of influence by 2050.🌍 To accomplish this, we are increasing the coverage of green electricity at our sites.🔌 In 2023, we avoided around 77.000 tons of CO2 emissions.💨

Food waste? Not on our watch! At Dr. Oetker, reducing food waste is a top priority, in our employee restaurants, as well as in our production sites. Every year, #EarthOvershootDay marks the day when humanity has used up all the natural resources that the Earth can provide within a year - this year, it's today, August 1st.🌍🪫 For Germany only, it would be on May 2nd; for the Dutch, it would be on April 1st, and for the US-Americans March 14th. Reason enough to drive sustainability at Dr. Oetker - so let's take a look at our goals and actions. Recently, we joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We thereby underlined our commitment for a transition towards net zero economy. As part of this commitment, we are now developing our emission reduction targets for both near and long-term (net zero) according to the SBTi requirements. We will communicate our SBTi-aligned decarbonization roadmap by 2025 at the latest.
