📢 The new issue of Bauwelt Einblick is available from today. Ten selected projects highlight the extraordinary breadth of Gerber Architekten's portfolio - and its development from a two-man office founded in 1966 to an internationally active competition office with 320 employees worldwide. Editor-in-chief Boris Schade-Bünsow describes the conceptual approach of Gerber Architekten as ‘functional generalists’. The close connection between architecture and landscape and the sustainable use of existing buildings are equally characteristic. The selection of projects shows timeless classics such as the Harenberg Haus, pioneers of timber hybrid construction such as the new Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre and revitalisations such as the Dortmunder U and the Weltquartier in Hamburg. Insights into projects currently under construction, such as the new research building for geosciences in Munich, the SUS Tech healthcare complex in Shenzhen and King Salman Park in Riyadh, show the solutions Gerber Architekten is developing for the future viability of the city.
