Freja Cecilie Mikkelsen, one of our brilliant industrial PhD students, has been awarded the prestigious poster prize at the 19th International Symposium on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections (ISSSI), Australia 🦘 The conference, a significant event in the field of #microbiology, focuses on interdisciplinary research related to #StaphylococcalInfections and brought together leading experts from around the world 🌏 Freja, along with her fellow PhD candidate, Jack Abrahamsson, both at University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet), has been traveling across Australia all summer. Their journey included participating in both the #VoM2024 and #ISSSI2024 conferences and visiting the notable research lab of Tim Stinear, known for his work within microbial genomics 🧬 🧪 The ISSSI conference provided a platform for Freja to present her research to a global audience, and winning the poster prize is a testament to the high quality and impact of her work ✨🍾 We are so #proud!

We recently participated in the 15th International ILAE Epilepsy Congress, Rome, and took the opportunity to network with leading experts in epilepsy treatment and research 👩⚕️ 👩🔬 We are always happy to share information on our work to improve the scientific understanding and patient outcome, specifically our EPIDASD panel, which explores rare, genetic neurological conditions including epilepsy 🔎🧬

The 40th #ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) conference is taking place in Amsterdam this year, attracting around 11,000 participants from all over the world. Amplexa is proud to showcase our #fertility portfolio at this event 🌍✨ Our portfolio includes #preimplantation and #preconception genetic tests such as egg and sperm #donorscreening, recessive genetic screening (Genes4Life), and donor/recipient compatibility tests with Match4Life 🧬👶 The highlight of our presentation is the new non-invasive preimplantation genetic test for aneuploidy (#niPGTA). We just wrapped up a three-day congress from April 25-27, in the beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic 🌍 This year, the Congress of the Central American and Caribbean Region of the Latin American Network for Assisted Reproduction (#REDLARA) brought together experts and professionals from over 40 Accredited Assisted Reproduction Centers across Latin America. From Colombia to Venezuela and from Costa Rica through to Honduras, Panama, and our host, the Dominican Republic, we've connected a community dedicated to advancing science and excellence in assisted #reproduction 👩🔬👶 We were sharing cutting-edge knowledge and enriching experiences, strengthening our commitment to driving standards and improving patient care across the region. Cindy Barrios, our local representative for Central America and the Caribbean, played a pivotal role in sharing insights and forging valuable connections by meeting with our clients🤝

Last Thursday Amplexa participated in this #networking event at Faculty of Science, University of Southern Denmark in collaboration with SDU RIO and Life Science Fyn ⚗ 🔬 We are always happy to participate in such events! This spring semester, we are happy to have no less than four company students who are working on different R&D projects, getting acquainted with working in an SME, and building a network beyond their academic studies 💪

We recently showed our pioneering work within reproductive genetics at the Congresso Brasileiro 2024 CBPN e REDLARA, Brazil. This event drew together over 400 fertility specialists from across the region, emphasizing its prominence within the field 👩🔬 👩⚕️ Our CEO Hans Atli Dahl presented "Non-invasive PGT-A: Potential and Promise" focusing on the latest non-invasive preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (#niPGT-A), a topic of significant interest to the attendees. The Red Latinoamericana de Reproducción Asistida (#REDLARA), unites over 90% of Latin America's assisted reproduction centers, including 72 accredited centers in Brazil, facilitating an ideal platform for Amplexa Genetics to share and collaborate with leading specialists in the field. Amplexa Genetics is proud to have contributed to such a pivotal gathering, further solidifying our commitment to advancing reproductive health and genetics across Latin America 👶

When your airplane is delayed by several hours due to a combination of snowstorm and volcanic eruptions, you know you are headed towards Iceland! Last Friday, Hanne Ingmer, Freja Cecilie Mikkelsen, and Ifigeneia Kyrkou from University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet) and Hans Atli Dahl and Eva Harvald from Amplexa Genetics A/S visited our collaborators at Matís Iceland to celebrate the beginning of our #Eurostars funded project #sBACseqFOOD. This collaboration underscores our common commitment to advancing research in #foodsafety and quality and combines our knowledge and resources to bring groundbreaking solutions in the field of food science.

As we bid farewell to the year 2023, we extend heartfelt thanks to our customers, collaborators, R&D funders, and everyone else who have contributed to a great year at Amplexa! Fenger, Christina Dühring was representing Amplexa Genetics at the exciting and interactive NIHR/MRC mTOR Pathway Diseases node kick-off event in London on November 24th. Here, we had the opportunity to meet with colleagues and potential collaborators, including doctors and researches to discuss the diagnosis of patients with focal epilepsy. During the event, Joseph Mathew Bateman and Laura Mantoan were pleased to announce that they have received a grant of £1.2 million from MRC for research on brain-specific somatic variants in mTOR pathway genes with Amplexa Genetics A/S as a partner 🧠💡 This funding aims to explore the potential development of focal epilepsy. The gathering provided a valuable platform for networking and fostering collaborations in the field of epilepsy research.
