Strengthening Digital Health Partnerships between Serbia and Denmark 🇷🇸🤝🇩🇰 This week, Healthcare Denmark had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Serbia, focusing on Denmark’s journey in digital health and innovation. Executive Director Jakob Skaarup Nielsen welcomed the delegates with an introduction to the Danish healthcare system followed by an insightful presentation by the Danish Health Data Authority on Denmark’s digital journey, setting the stage for a deep dive into the digital infrastructure of the Danish healthcare system💡✨ Healthcare Denmark’s Senior Advisor Peter Wiisbye welcomed the delegation to our Nation of Health visitor centre in Odense, where MedCom shared insights into Denmark’s joint-public ownership model and sundhed.dk introduced Denmark’s national e-Health platform, enabling secure communication between citizens and the healthcare system. The delegates also met with Odense Robotics, Denmark’s cluster for robotics, automation, and drones, showcasing some of the newest innovations when it comes to the future of digital health 🦾 Part of the program also included an introduction to public-private partnerships in Denmark, highlighted by the Lighthouse Life Science. At Digital Hub Denmark, the delegates engaged in discussions on Danish GovTech and the successful implementation of digital solutions focusing on involving academia and creating a strong ecosystem for clinical trials. During their stay, the delegates also met with Danish companies Novo Nordisk, Lundbeck, Falck and E-Health Brains. Japanese-Danish knowledge exchange on digital technologies💡 Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming NEC Solution Innovators, one of Japan's largest system integration companies, who is visiting Denmark to learn about Danish strongholds in Life Science and exchange ideas with Danish companies exploring potential partnerships 🇯🇵🇩🇰 With 30% of Japan's population aged 65 or older, the country faces challenges like rising social security costs and caregiver shortage. NEC is interested in Danish technologies that promote healthier lifestyles and disease prevention. Healthcare Denmark’s Executive Director, Jakob Skaarup Nielsen, and Advisor, Oluf á Heygum Bærentsen, provided an insightful introduction to digitalization in the Danish healthcare system, highlighting healthcare organization and responsibilities. The event was organized by Chief Advisor Hans Henrik Philipsen in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Copenhagen. The Japanese delegates met with MedCom’s CEO Lars Hulbaek, who provided valuable information about data sharing in Danish healthcare, and Charan Nelander, Director for The Danish Committee for Health Education (Komiteen for Sundhedsoplysning), shared the Danish national strategies for encouraging behavioral changes to prevent disease. WHINN - Week of Health and Innovation kicks off in Odense 🚀 Today, we welcomed a group of participants from Germany, Finland, UK, and the Netherlands for the #WHINN conference to our showroom, where Senior Advisor Peter Wiisbye introduced Denmark’s healthcare system and showcased its digital transformation journey. The presentation provided insights into the structure of primary and secondary care in Denmark and highlighted solutions for key challenges facing healthcare systems worldwide, including structural and digital innovations. Finally, discussions also focused on Denmark’s approach to public-private partnerships and their essential role in advancing sustainable, patient-centered healthcare solutions. High-level visit from Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare 🇹🇼 We were honored to host a high-level delegation, led by Deputy Director Hsi-Wen Wu, who visited Denmark this week. This visit, organised in collaboration with the Taipei Representative Office in Denmark, contributed to the exchange of knowledge within healthcare between Denmark and Taiwan, with a particular emphasis on long-term care challenges and innovations. At our showroom, Nation of Health, the delegates explored how Denmark addresses key challenges related to an ageing population, including the integration of AI in healthcare, public-private partnerships, and strategies for transitioning patients from hospital to home care. During the visit, the delegation also visited the Department of Elderly and Disabled at Odense Kommune and Syddansk Sundhedsinnovation to learn about Denmark’s policies on preventive care and innovative solutions for assisted living. Today, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of representatives from the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production along with members of Conseil du Renouveau Économique Algérien مجلس التجديد الإقتصادي الجزائري (CREA) and industry sector experts, led by the Algerian Investment Agency (الوكالة الجزائرية لترقية الإستثمار | AAPI) 🇩🇿 🇩🇰 Executive Director Jakob Skaarup Nielsen and Senior Advisor Peter Wiisbye provided an insightful introduction to the Danish healthcare system, highlighting Denmark’s expertise in the life sciences sector and ecosystem. The visit also featured discussions on the growing collaboration between Denmark and Algeria in the pharmaceutical sector, which saw a 14.1% increase in Danish exports to Algeria last year, underscoring the strong potential for continued innovation and partnership in the health sector. The program also featured meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and State Secretary for Trade & Investments, Lina Gandløse Hansen, as well as a visit to Novo Nordisk and an Algerian-Danish Business Roundtable with the Danish Chamber of Commerce, among others. The event allowed experts to share insights on the impact of #AMR and strategies to combat it, ahead of today's United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance.
