Dear colleagues, We are very happy to announce that this year’s Nordic Pre-CHI Event will take place in Copenhagen! Tl;DR: join us for the Nordic Pre-CHI Event! Dates: 27 March + 28 March, 2025 Location: Gammeltoftsgade 13, Copenhagen, Denmark Times: exact times tba, start ~10:00 (27/3), end: ~12:00 (28/3) Registration deadline: 21 February. The event is free to participate. Due to limited space (180 people), we'll be welcoming participants on a first-come, first-served basis. We will send out confirmation emails after the registration deadline has passed. Paper talks: Please indicate your interest in presenting a paper by filling out the form linked below. If we receive more interest than we have time for, we may balance presentations based on seniority, topic, etc. The Nordic Pre-CHI event provides an opportunity for researchers from the Nordics to present their accepted CHI 2025 papers and discuss them in a smaller circle. Additionally, it provides an excellent opportunity for younger researchers to get a taste of the quality of work presented at CHI and network with other peers, as well as senior researchers. Therefore, everyone from students to professors interested in HCI is welcome. We are planning to have several paper sessions followed by the “usual” CHI discussion, but also comments and suggestions on presentation style, slides, etc. to help prepare you for a presentation at CHI. Please let us know by February 21 if you would like to participate by filling this form: https://lnkd.in/gu4jFkDU. Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues and spread the word! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Organisers: Tor-Salve Dalsgaard Qiushi Zhou Jonathan Sutton Teresa Hirzle

#P1 collaboratory co-lead, Professor Sune Lehmann, will give a public talk on February 17th. Fascinating work on predicting life’s events👇
I'm giving a public lecture (in Danish) at the royal academy of sciences on Feb 17th. I'll talk about our wild & crazy paper (https://lnkd.in/du2geF7t) on predicting life, death, and much more based on the sequence of events that make up your life. The talk is for a general audience. And as a bonus, I'll also explain how the large language models work in a way that anyone can understand. Full details here: https://lnkd.in/dfdqTJ8M (You'll need to sign up to attend) Hope to see you there!

Next week, I'll be giving a talk at IDA - The Danish Society of Engineers in Copenhagen. 🎤✨ I will dive into the realm of 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐒𝐒𝐋) and 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. Core concepts and methods of SSL will be introduced, along with demonstrations on how to pre-train models using these techniques. Additionally, we'll explore how these pre-trained models can be deployed for various downstream tasks. Looking forward to engaging with an audience beyond the university campus and exchanging thoughts related to AI and machine learning. 🤖🌟 All are welcome #AI #MachineLearning #SelfSupervisedLearning #ModelPreTraining #Engineering
