At a high-level conference on environmental security in #Ukraine, organised in #Helsinki on 19 October 2024 and co-chaired by Minister of Climate and the Environment of Finland Kai Mykkänen and Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk our Vice President for Eastern Europe Ulf Bojö showcased Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank's impactful rebuilding activities in #Ukraine. A big thank you to Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk for acknowledging the significance of Nefco’s work in Ukraine, not least regarding strengthening smaller communities’ ability to invest and plan for the future. Your support fuels our commitment to further promote and support a green recovery in Ukraine. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine has caused significant environmental damages, led to enormous pollution, disrupted ecosystems and destroyed biodiversity in an unprecedented way. It’s a call to action for all of us. To strengthen cooperation and promote sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine, the two Ministers Kai Mykkänen and Svitlana Hrynchuk agreed on stronger cooperation in the environmental and energy sectors as well as forest, nature, and meteorology. With environmental cooperation, Finland also contributes to supporting Ukraine’s convergence with the EU.
