Did you already watch the recording #EthicsTalkLIVE: "From soft law to hard law" with Heidi Hautala, Salla Tuominen and Niina Ratsula from last Friday? Already over 100 people have watched our super interesting conversation on the status and future of CSDDD. You can watch the recording here: https://lnkd.in/gDW2wg-5

Despite the turbulence in CSDDD adoption, companies are doing a lot already. The future of CSDDD is uncertain for sure, but it does not mean the end of corporate sustainability. Our #EthicsTalkLIVE experts Heidi Hautala and Salla Tuominen highlighted the need for a level playing field for all companies and collaboration even across borders. There is a lot of work to be done, but we must stay optimistic. Thank you to our amazing audience with great questions and comments. Thank you DLA Piper for having us.

Do you have questions about CSDDD or its status? There is still time to register for the next #EthicsTalkLIVE on Friday at 10 am (EET). Heidi Hautala and Salla Tuominen will share their expert insights on the matter and answer questions. Niina will moderate the hybrid event from DLA Piper's office in Helsinki. What is the status on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD)? The future of CSDDD is currently uncertain. The final draft of the directive was recently withdrawn from the European Council's voting agenda, as several member states indicated that they would abstain from the vote. Once it became clear that there would not be a majority vote in favor of the directive, the decision was made to postpone the vote. It is now expected to take place after the European Parliament elections in June. However, there is a suspicion that the election might alter the composition of the decision-making bodies, potentially eliminating any support for the CSDDD. If this happens, it is highly unlikely that the current requirements of the directive will be approved, and we should anticipate reductions in corporate liability. Heidi Hautala, VP of the European Parliament and Salla Tuominen, Head of Corporate at DLA Piper will answer your questions at our next #EthicsTalkLIVE on March 1st.
