🌊 “Communication of the impact of climate change in the oceans" 🌍 SAVE THE DATE ! From June 6th to 8th in #Nice (France) will take place the annual Media Workshop, preceding of the United Nations Conference on the Oceans (#UNOC). This 2025 edition will provide over 100 experts, weather and climate journalists with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively communicate to the public the profound impact of climate change on the world’s oceans. Organized within the Forum International de la Météo et du Climat since 2004 with Météo et Climat, the Media Workshop brings together weather presenters from all around the world 🌏and representatives from international organisations working in Weather, Climate, Environment and Earth Observation fields. It will be hosted at the EU’s Digital Ocean pavilion run by Mercator Ocean International & Copernicus Marine Service. Did you know that global ocean surface pH has been continuously decreasing over the past 3⃣9⃣ years❓      The drop in global pH levels is known as ocean 🌊 acidification.       This phenomenon is not happening evenly across the globe 🌍 with record-breaking declines observed in the #IndianOcean, the #SouthernOcean, the eastern equatorial and northern tropical #PacificOcean, and some areas of the #AtlanticOcean.      Ocean acidification poses a serious threat to marine ecosystems, impacting key #BlueEconomy sectors such as #fisheries and #aquaculture.      Read more in the World Meteorological Organization's 2024 #StateofClimate Report 👇   https://lnkd.in/eHzj3XHF
