TINTA is a facilitation platform that seeks to strengthen capacities, foster connections and increase the visibility of Indigenous, local and frontline community organizations. We weave ties with invisible threads for the benefit of people, climate and nature! We organize and facilitate territorial exchanges and capacity building activities, we provide linguistics support and travel logistics in international events, and we contribute to raise communications and advocacy efforts for our partner organisations. By creating opportunities and the necessary conditions to strengthen skills, connections and leadership in IPLC organisations, we seek to drive systemic change to protect nature, secure rights and advance social and climate justice.

This week, join the webinar ‘Standing with Defenders’, featuring the perspectives of powerful women experts, activists, and policymakers from across Latin America. This live webinar is organised by The Invisible Thread = TINTA = and Global Witness and will take place on March 27 (Thursday) at 9 AM EST. 🌿 One of the speakers is Kelly Sabrina Chanajao, an indigenous leader who is one of the few women in the Shipibo Indigenous Guard in the Peruvian Amazon. She will be speaking of her experience protecting Shipibo ancestral land from mining, deforestation and other external threats. ✊🏽 Despite their important work, over 2,000 land and environmental defenders have been murdered globally since 2012. The International Land and Forest Tenure Facility is growing, with two new positions open for Latin America: 🌎Amazon Regional Programme Officer 🌎Amazon Regional Analysis and Learning Officer These are crucial roles for Tenure Facility, so please share far and wide with your networks and do share your recommendations for candidates with us. Tenure Facility is the first and only international mechanism focused on securing land and forest rights for Indigenous Peoples and local communities. The Amazon Regional Programme Officer will be responsible for facilitating and managing grants at the Pan-Amazon level, working closely with Indigenous and Afro-descendant Peoples, community organisations and Tenure Facility. We are seeking someone with experience with regional policies, funding initiatives, and organizations in the Amazon Basin. The Regional Analysis and Learning Officer will oversee studies, events, and learning exchanges about the territorial rights of Indigenous, Afro-descendant and traditional communities.
