WestK is an integrated arts and cultural district with world-class facilities in Hong Kong.

About us

Stretching across 40 hectares of reclaimed land, WestK is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, blending art, education and open space. Its vision is to create a vibrant cultural quarter for Hong Kong where the local arts scene can interact, develop and collaborate. Providing 23 hectares of public open space with two kilometres of vibrant harbour-front promenade it will also include a variety of arts and cultural facilities that will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and arts and cultural events. A Development Plan for the District, based on well-received Foster + Partner’s Conceptual Plan, was approved by the Chief Executive-in-Council in January 2013. Overlooking the magnificent Victoria Harbour, the District will begin to take shape over the next decade. By developing this sizable project in phases we can start to bring the district to life. The Xiqu Centre, Freespace, Art Park, M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum and Lyric Theatre Complex, will be developed as a first batch of facilities aiming for opening to the public. Although the whole project will take time to complete, we are already busy organising a wide range of cultural activities on site. Visit our website for details of upcoming events. Meanwhile, we welcome you to enjoy the beautiful views of Victoria Harbour by riding a bike or walking along the promenade. About the Authority The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is a statutory body responsible for developing the West Kowloon Cultural District. Led by the Board and an executive team comprising experts from different sectors, our vision is to build a vibrant cultural quarter for the city, dedicated to bringing together local and international artists and audiences to be inspired and to celebrate the arts. • [ It’s Biz-Green Dress Day again! ] Continuing our unwavering dedication towards sustainability, we proudly backed the Biz-Green Dress Day for our third year in a row, rallying under the theme of “Move Forward with Green Building. Next Station: Carbon Neutrality”! Our WestK colleagues came dressed in the four main colours, each symbolising a key aspect of green building: Red for Health and Wellbeing, Yellow for Innovative Elements, Blue for Resource Efficiency, and Green for Environmental Friendliness. Biz-Green Dress Day might fall on a day in September each year, but we recognise the importance of weaving sustainability habits into our daily fabric, particularly within our workplace. A lighter dress code is only the start — paperless communication, switching off electronics not in use, and recycling where possible are all micro habits we can adopt. By incorporating environmental mindfulness in the processes we undertake at work, from park maintenance, to marketing promotions, to exhibition curation, WestK aims to bolster endeavours that moves us closer towards carbon neutrality. Let’s continue to take small actions in daily life to make big differences! Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) #WestK #Corporate #4ColourBizGreenOutfits #BizGreenDressDay2024 #HKGBW2024 #HKGBC

  • [ Introducing WestK — our refined brand identity ] Over the past five years, the West Kowloon Cultural District has evolved from a local cultural establishment into a world-class cultural hub that proudly presents Hong Kong in the global arena. It is a place where arts and culture go beyond museums, theatres, artefacts and performances. More importantly, it is a living, thriving destination, constantly in dialogue with its community. And now, say hello to WestK — a brand refinement that celebrates the District’s identity. The refined logo exudes crisp simplicity while making the letters “HK” from its previous design more prominent. It highlights the District’s connections to our home base — a place rooted in Hong Kong and belonging to the Hong Kong people. What’s more, accompanying this brand refinement is a new tagline, “Where Art Comes Alive”, which fully captures the essence of WestK. The tagline illustrates the vibrancy of the new branding and the endless possibilities that WestK offers. It showcases our unique positioning as an integrated cultural precinct that not only offers the best of east and west, traditional and contemporary arts and culture, but also presents a holistic experience to visitors. We envision WestK to be a place that will inspire creativity, fuel curiosity and transcend boundaries, allowing visitors to experience art in their own ways. #WestK #WestKowloonCulturalDistrict #HongKong #ArtsandCulture
