⭐ 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 ⭐ On Friday, March 7th, we celebrated the incredible women who are shaping the future of the construction sector marking International Women's Day 2025. We hosted a series of inspiring and uplifting presentations from our female staff, covering a wide range of topics. These included the challenges women face in the construction sector, the visible increase of female employees, particularly on the contractor side of projects we are working on, and the extracurricular activities and interests in which some of our colleagues excel. Thanks to everyone for partaking and for making the morning so enjoyable for all. In 2018, women made up just 5.5% of the construction workforce according to the CSO Labour Force Survey. This figure increased to 9% in 2022, and the impact of this growth is evident in the sector. Promoting female presence in construction is crucial for several reasons: 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: Women bring unique viewpoints and problem-solving approaches, leading to more innovative and effective solutions in construction projects. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀: The construction industry faces significant skill shortages. Encouraging more women to join the sector helps fill these gaps and ensures a steady supply of skilled professionals. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Increasing female representation in construction helps break down gender stereotypes and promotes equality in the workplace, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. We would like to thank all our female colleagues across the sector for their dedication, creativity, and expertise, which are vital to the industry's growth. We are proud to recognize that 38% of our team at COADY Architects are women, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all. #𝗜𝗪𝗗𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 #𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗜𝗻𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗬𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 #𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

We are proud to be taking part in the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) Simon Open Door event again this year! 🎉 It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to provide valuable insights and guidance for homeowners looking to realise the full potential of their residential projects while raising money for Simon Communities of Ireland and their vital work in helping the homeless. This year, we have a record number of colleagues giving their time as part of the 2025 event. Participants can book a consultation with some of COADY Architects’ experts, following a donation of €120 that will go directly to the Simon Communities. Last Thursday, some of our team at COADY Architects had the privilege of visiting the National Children's Hospital in Dublin, which is nearing completion. The visit marks a significant milestone for our practice, as we reflect on our journey and our contributions to this landmark project. The New Children's Hospital (NCH) project encompasses the main hospital on the shared campus at St James’s, along with two paediatric Outpatient and Urgent Care Satellite Centres: CHI at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, and CHI at Tallaght University Hospital. Additionally, it includes a new facility for Ronald McDonald House Ireland at the St James Campus. We were fortunate to be involved in the delivery of the two satellite centres, in partnership with HLM Architects, which have been operational for 4 years and 6 years respectively, and have provided care to thousands of children. These world-class paediatric facilities have been pivotal in offering urgent care and outpatient services, ensuring children receive the best possible care close to home. The opportunity to visit the main hospital at St James and witness the incredible facility that will transform children's care in Ireland is truly a full-circle moment for us. COADY are also proud to be part of the delivery team for the new Ronald McDonald House, working alongside Clancy. This facility will provide accommodation for 52 families every night, offering a home away from home for families with children receiving treatment. The Ronald McDonald House will include communal kitchens, living rooms, playrooms, and outdoor spaces, ensuring families have the support and comfort they need during challenging times. Our involvement in these projects underscores our commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and improving the lives of children and their families. We are proud to contribute to the creation of environments that promote healing and well-being. #COADYArchitects #NationalChildrensHospital #HealthcareDesign #RonaldMcDonaldHouse #PediatricCare #FullCircleMoment

COADY Architects were delighted to take some of our colleagues on to visit the recently completed Innovation Square Apartments in Tallaght. The cost rental scheme is part of a wider masterplan devised by South Dublin County Council, including an Innovation Work Hub, public park and greenway within the area. The 8-storey apartment block comprising of 133 dwellings, embraces Modern Methods of Construction in its use of Precast Architectural Wall Panels, and offsite manufacturing of bathroom pods and balconies. The scheme is also the first residential development to be connected to the Tallaght District Heating Scheme, using excess heat from a local data centre to provide space heating and hot water to the apartments. We were delighted to work with JJ Rhatigan & Company and the design team to deliver this exciting new addition to the Tallaght area. #MMC #urbanrenewal #sustainabledesign #newhomes
