We are delighted to announce that the Science Week Call 2025 is now open! The purpose of the Science Week Call is to provide support to festivals and events nationwide that support public engagement, communities underrepresented in, or those with less access to #STEM to engage in ways that are relevant and accessible during Science Week and beyond in creative ways. #ScienceWeek2025 will take place from the 9th – 16th November. Science Week welcomes contributions from across the sciences, arts, media, education, youth and/or community work sectors. The deadline for festival applications is 28th April 2025 at 13:00 (local Irish time). The deadline for events applications is 9th May 2025 at 13:00 (local Irish time). Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless attended Research Ireland's Corporate Plan Consultation event in Dublin yesterday, where he recognised and expressed gratitude for the valuable contributions of all stakeholders. The event was part of a national stakeholder consultation programme that continues in Galway today. It provided updates from Research Ireland on the Interim Corporate Plan and the development of the Final Corporate Plan. Minister James Lawless has today announced over €6 million in funding for the final 10 research teams to receive Grow Phase funding under the #NationalChallengeFund. The teams receiving funding today are split across two challenge areas: the Sustainable Communities Challenge and the Future Food Systems Challenge. The National Challenge Fund, a programme funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, has supported 96 teams to identify problems related to Ireland’s Green Transition and Digital Transformation and collaborate directly with those stakeholders most affected by them to create real and tangible solutions. 📢 Next week we publish findings from our in-depth study of the school experiences of autistic students across a range of types of provision in Ireland. 🌟 Conducted with Professor Mary Rose Sweeney, Aoife M.
