The Ashoka University-backed CMGGA Program has been working closely with the Haryana State and District administration improving citizens' lives directly for the past 8 years. We have left a lasting impact by supporting various government initiatives in education, health, water, sanitation, service delivery and more. Looking back to the past 8 years, celebrating SAKSHAM as a milestone achievement within the Programme. Launched in 2017, SAKSHAM aims to improve learning outcomes and ensure 100% grade competency among all government school students in classes 1-8, striving to make every elementary class grade-competent, i.e., Saksham. Since the program's initiation in 2017, 86% of grades 3, 5 & 7 students have attained grade -evel competency In Hindi & Maths. Board pass percentage has also increased significantly to 65% for Class 10 and 80% for Class XII. Being the on-ground partners for SAKSHAM Haryana, our Associates have driven clarity in teachers about Project Udaan, the state's remediation program, and have been instrumental in designing and implementing board improvement strategies. We have also established a reviewing and monitoring system in the education sector, ensuring weekly e-Adhigam reviews to map out action items and observe district progress. Over the past 8 years, an intergenerational family of 158 associates across 7 cohorts has shown unparalleled dedication and resilience, working tirelessly to transform the governance landscape and improve the lives of the citizens of Haryana. As we mark this milestone and celebrate champions of the programme, here's what one of our alumna, Palak Rawal has to say. Having served as CMGGA Rohtak 2016-18, she reminisces fondly about her experience in Haryana with the CMGGA Programme. Her willingness to learn, passion for work, and interest in the development sector, drove her towards the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates programme. She now works as a Social Development Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines. Since the inception of the CMGGA programme in 2016, associates have worked on multiple high-impact focused governance projects. We thank the Government of Haryana for its unwavering support and commitment to this transformative initiative. Together, we are driving tangible impact on the ground. He graduated as a Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associate for Ambala in 2021. A collaboration between the Haryana government and Ashoka University to directly improve governance, the CMGGA initiative lets chosen associates directly interact and work with district officials, bureaucrats and the chief minister of Haryana.
