We are delighted to share a few glimpses from the launch event of the new report by Pahle India Foundation (PIF), titled, “Net Impact of E-commerce on Employment and Consumer Welfare in India”. The report takes stock of the impact e-commerce has had on employment and consumer welfare through a pan-India survey of 2062 online vendors, 2031 offline vendors, and 8209 consumers of products from e-commerce websites across 35 cities in 20 states and UTs. Dr Rajiv Kumar, Chairman of Pahle India Foundation (PIF), has been honored with the prestigious Swami Kuvalyananda Yoga Puruskar by the Hon'ble Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, in recognition of his contributions to integrating and promoting yoga in public life.

The Pahle India Foundation (PIF) team had the pleasure of meeting Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University(A Central University), Itanagar, along with esteemed academicians, Prof. Vandana Upadhyaya (Dept. of Economics), Dr. Arindam Chakrabarty (Dept. of Management), and Dr. Ravi Ranjan Kumar (Dept. of Social Work). Our discussions focused on collaborating for the tourism policy of Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting was insightful, paving the way for more meaningful dialogues and engagements in the future. Had a productive discussion today on Tourism Policy for Arunachal Pradesh, with Hon'ble Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona, @Minister of Tourism, Shri N Damo Ji, Director of Tourism, Smt. Bengia Manna Sonam, Deputy Director of Tourism, and Shri Mopi Mihu Ji,  Adviser to the Minister of Tourism. We explored key strategies to boost tourism in Arunachal Pradesh. An excellent study by academics at King George's Medical University, correlating high blood lead levels with decreased cognitive performance in one of the first country-wide studies, sampling 2,247 children across 10 cities. This study corroborates what multiple international studies have shown - that exposure to lead has definitive and adverse impacts on a child's intelligence, which can hinder their mental development, and associated academic potential and economic productivity later in life.
