SICIM Safety Day: drills and workshops to build a safe workplace 🌟 Our Safety Day in Castelnuovo Vomano in the Abruzzo region attracted hundreds of colleagues of le local construction site. There were plenty of informative and interactive activities to raise awareness about safety, including the following: 🔹 A smoke simulator to learn what to do in the event of emergency in enclosed spaces with limited visibility 🔹 Work at height rescue techniques to learn how to recover people working at height in case of emergency 🔹 Fire safety drills and practical session to master the main procedures 🔹 An interactive workshop using excavator and forklift simulators 🔹 A safe driving campaign to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol or using the phone on driving 🔹 First aid drills to learn how to respond to emergencies and how to interact with Public Emergency Services 🔹 Hazard Identification: competitive exercise to identify and respond effectively to potential hazards on the construction site. We want to thank our partner, Manna S.p.A., our Client, Snam, and Site Supervision, Saipem and Techfem, for their cooperation and support in making this event possible. SICIM is 62nd in the ENR Top 250 International Contractors ranking 📢   If you work in engineering and construction, you may have already seen the latest ranking of the largest international contractors compiled yearly by the American weekly magazine Engineering News-Record (commonly known as ENR). This year’s top 250 sees SICIM in 62nd place. This is another excellent result of our dedication to growth and improvement. For example, we have invested more than one million Euros in research and development to improve our fleet of machinery and the equipment we use for the innovative solutions we implement in every project. However, we also believe that professional development plays a pivotal role. That’s why, in 2023, we increased our training activities in health, safety, and environment by 16.9% compared to 2022.   None of our achievements would have been possible without our extraordinary team. SICIM completes the 2024 turnaround at the KTL-1 plant at Tengiz field 🔧 We are proud to announce that we have completed the turnaround on the Tengizchevroil (TCO) KTL-1 plant at Tengiz field in Kazakhstan. Turnarounds are planned events during which operations are halted for maintenance and upgrades. The process involved 680 people working double shifts and included the following: ✔️ 650 field welds ✔️ 68 managed work packs ✔️ Replacing sections of pipelines (3,348’’), performing post-weld heat treatments (PWHT) and ultrasonic testing (UT) ✔️ Coating ✔️ Inspecting the new pipelines ✔️ Completing the final documentation before starting up the plant The turnover was conducted in compliance with international standards and Kazakh law, improving the plant’s execution efficiency by 23% compared to the previous one in 2019. Our team’s effort and state-of-the-art methodologies have allowed us to help improve the KTL-1 plant’s performance in record-breaking time while protecting the environment and workers’ safety. #sicim #tengizchevroil #tengiz #pipeline #sicimproject

The IPLOCA’s 56th Annual Convention in the wonderful setting of Sorrento (Italy) is coming to an end.   These five days of the convention were such a great occasion to gather delegates from pipeline engineering and construction companies, manufacturers and suppliers coming from more than 40 countries.   Once again, this year, our representatives do not return empty-handed!   During the convention we were awarded the IPLOCA Health and Safety Award for the implementation of the Safe Prompter Trapdoor for Welding Tents. Our quicker and safer way to access to tents roof allows us to eliminate the working at high risk during the welding phase. Finally, we also won the IPLOCA Excellence in Project Execution Award thanks to our innovative solutions to face design and construction challenges during the execution of the Coastal GasLink pipeline - Section 8 West - in Canada.   These awards are recognitions of our outstanding response to challenges and risks faced during our day-by-day operations and we are all proud of that! #sicim #award #iploca #hse

👉 The Civil Protection Department in Badia Tedalda (Tuscany, Italy) celebrates the opening of a new Municipal Operations Centre (MOC)   We recently attended the opening ceremony of a new operations centre for the Italian Civil Protection Department’s local group of volunteers: along with Edil Euganea Srl and its CEO Fabio Poletto, we donated a container to the little municipality in Alta Valmarecchia, complete with all the facilities required to serve as a base if the need arises. The unit and the surrounding area can be used as a Municipal Operations Centre (MOC) in the event of an emergency, providing the important support that centres of this kind can offer, especially in mountainous zones.   SICIM was represented at the event by Alessio Veroni and Giovanni Nobile. It was attended by the mayor Alberto Santucci and lots of local people, who showed their strong backing for the initiative.

📢 Full speed ahead for the Karachaganak Expansion Project in Kazakhstan: the first KEP-1A gas injection has been completed successfully.   The Karachaganak Expansion Project (KEP1) is a crucial part of the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) consortium’s development plan. The aim is to complete KEP1A (5th Compressor) and KEP1B (6th Compressor) to increase the gas re-injection capacity.   At the end of July,2024 the 5th compressor safely achieved the first gas reinjection into reservoir and it’s now running in stable operation. In the next weeks KEP1A project will be completed with the commissioning of a new system of pipelines, along with the associated receiving facilities at KPC plant. At the same time KEP1B is proceeding full speed with a target to start up in 1Q 2026.   Thanks to our team and collaboration with KPO, we’re continuing to work towards increasingly ambitious targets. #sicim #pipeline #sicimproject
