Investing in quality childcare benefits women, families and children by promoting workforce participation, economic stability and family well-being. The WEE community partners continue learning and growing from strength to strength to build on our collaborative action. #WEEConvening24 #IStand4Children William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
We’re more motivated than ever to forge a future for women’s economic empowerment — thanks to the grantee partners who joined us at our #WEEConvening24. The last three days were truly inspiring, bringing together some of the most dedicated, thoughtful, and creative minds who have established the Women’s Economic Empowerment field. We explored so many topics — from shifting power and decolonial approaches, to civic and policymakers engagement — all with the goal of promoting gender-responsive economic policies. We leave this space with gratitude and excitement for the years ahead as we move gender from the outskirts to the center of macroeconomic policy.

The Technical Committee of the CESA ECED Cluster met to deliberate on the progress achieved this year and to give input for the review of CESA 16-25 and drafting of CESA 26-35. As we confront the learning crisis across the continent, it’s crucial that we join forces to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. As we draw to the end of CESA 16-25, one thing remains certain: there is need for increased advocacy and action around ECED. The CESA ECED Cluster would be thrilled to see in the upcoming CESA 26-25 a focus on: a) Strengthening educational infrastructure ensuring learning spaces are safe, well-equipped, and conducive to learning for the youngest children b) Enhancing teacher training and support for the ECED workforce c) Revising and localizing curricula to reflect play, local cultures, languages, and contexts to make education more relevant and engaging for children d)Engaging communities to create a supportive environment for children and address barriers to education e) Leveraging technology by utilizing digital tools and online resources to enhance learning experiences, especially in remote or underserved areas. f) Effective education policies that are essential for creating an equitable educational landscape. Advocacy for policies that support funding, access, and quality in ECED can drive systemic improvements. By collaborating effectively, we can address systemic challenges and create solutions that make a tangible difference. #IStand4Children The African Early Childhood Network (AfECN) Association of African Universities Save the Children Tanzania Plan International ChildFund International UNICEF University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika UNESCO Institute of Early Childhood Education and Development UNESCO-IICBA Mauritius Institute of Education Mauritius Ministry of Education and Human Resources Click here to Become a Member of the AU CESA ECED Cluster: https://lnkd.in/eQTiRTMX
