Inspired by the beauty, authenticity, and mystique of Saint Lucia, Global Ports Holding Plc (“GPH”) intends to support the expansion and enhancement the Saint Lucian cruise tourism industry through an agreement with the Government of Saint Lucia for cruise-related development and operations. Through a 30-year partnership, GPH intends to collaborate with local industry leaders and stakeholders to design and build new port infrastructure, enhance the existing port facilities, and create more opportunities for Saint Lucians through cruise sector and destination development.

  • It was a pleasure welcoming two new ships to our beautiful Saint Lucia! 🛳️🇱🇨 Majestic Princess of Princess Cruises made her inaugural call yesterday, and Iona of P&O Cruises made her inaugural call today!   • Exciting progress was made on the Saint Lucia Cruise Port Development Project with the demolition of the Customs & Excise Department Building last month. This marked an important first step for the transformative works which will be taking place throughout the course of the year. The next phase of construction will commence with the renovation of the Vendor's Arcade. We look forward to improving the cruise experience for everyone!

  • Officials from Carnival Corporation & plc , the Ministry of Tourism, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority and The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority , met on Saturday 16 November, 2024 to discuss the overall plans and vision for Saint Lucia’s cruise industry and overall tourism product. Emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration and communication between Saint Lucia and the cruise lines to improve product offerings, increase visitor spend on the island and improve the overall visitor experience. Carnival Corporation & PLC remain the cruise line bringing the largest number of visitors to Saint Lucia with an estimate of 286,084 passengers to the island annually.

  • Saint Lucia hosted three luxury vessels for their inaugural calls at both Port Castries and Soufriere last weekend. Ilma from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection made its inaugural call on Saturday, November 16th, followed by Odessey from Villa Vie Residences and Explora II from Explora Journeys on Sunday, November 17th.   Officials from Ministry of Tourism, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority as well as representatives from Port Agents Cox and Company and Platinum Port Agency were present for the plaque exchange ceremonies held on board each vessel.   Representatives from Saint Lucia Cruise Port included, Lancelot Arnold, Susanna Isaac and Racquel Preville. Mr. Arnold welcomed the vessels to Saint Lucia and looks forward to providing an even more unforgettable experience, showcasing the vibrant culture and natural beauty of the island to both passengers and crew.

Racquel Preville of Saint Lucia Cruise Port stated with the upcoming transformative changes to both Port Castries and Soufriere, improvements to facilities and product offerings will make the cruise experience even more rewarding in the near future. Captain Sasha Milosavljevic graciously welcomed all guests aboard and looks forward to more visits to the island.

  • We're looking forward to a RECORD-BREAKING CRUISE SEASON! Our General Manager, Lancelot Arnold, led our team in a celebration of the start of the 2024/2025 cruise season alongside key tourism partners at a vibrant cultural event held at Port Castries on Thursday, October 10, 2024. In a traditional ceremony hosted by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, the season was officially launched with the arrival of the Celebrity Summit and Rhapsody of the Seas, bringing 4,485 passengers and 1,756 crew members to the island. We partnered with the Tourism Authority to provide lively steel pan entertainment to create a festive welcome for our guests. “We are thrilled to welcome Captain Evangelos Saitis of the Celebrity Summit and Captain Per Olov Mathias Sebom of the Rhapsody of the Seas back to Saint Lucia," Mr. Arnold exclaimed. "The start of this cruise season presents us with a wonderful opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to enhancing the guest experience, supporting our cruise line partners, and collaborating with local industry stakeholders to ensure our mutual success. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting period ahead with a positive outlook for our company and community.” Representatives from Invest Saint Lucia, Export Saint Lucia, SLASPA, and Foster & Ince/Platinum Port Agency also participated in the event. Attendees included government officials, notably the Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, along with cruise agents, tour operators, excursion leaders, and other influential figures from Saint Lucia’s tourism sector. This event marked a significant milestone in the country's efforts to enhance its cruise tourism offerings and solidify its status as a premier cruise destination. Dr. Hilaire opened the conference with a comprehensive overview of Saint Lucia's tourism landscape, showcasing the impressive progress made in recent months. He shared the government's ambitious vision for the sector, highlighting the vital role of cruise tourism as a key driver of our economy. “Saint Lucia is poised for even greater success in cruise tourism. We are committed to leveraging the unique allure of our island to attract more visitors, extend their stays, uphold high standards, and ensure our cruise guests have unforgettable experiences that will bring them back year after year,” he emphasized. Next, Gasper George, Director of Operations and Product Development and General Manager of Antigua Cruise Port, provided insights into the global cruise tourism industry, setting the stage for discussions on how Saint Lucia can align itself with emerging trends for sustained growth. Lancelot Arnold, Regional Director of Global Ports Holding (GPH) for the Eastern Caribbean and General Manager of Saint Lucia Cruise Port, discussed operational strategies aimed at maximizing guest experiences during peak periods.
