NEO is joining the Fostering the Implementation of Regulations’ Elements (FIRE) workshop in Ispra on 2 and 3 October. Eva Stierman, Henk Janssen and Itsaso Guembe Cía are attending this intensive exchange on the technical and regulatory aspects of applying Geotagged Photos. The main focus is on the need to characterize the cover and use of land management units according to diverse legal requirements (and especially the Common Agricultural Policy). Aan het begin van deze maand is er wateroverlast geweest op verschillende plekken in het land als gevolg van extreme neerslag. Gelukkig komen er steeds meer oplossingen om de leefomgeving weerbaarder te maken hiertegen, met bijvoorbeeld waterdoorlatende parkeerplaatsen en campagnes om eigenaren van tuinen te motiveren tegels te verruilen voor groen. #NEO onderschrijft de urgentie van CO2-reductie om #klimaatverandering te beperken. We brengen onze CO2-uitstoot in beeld, formuleren doelen en nemen reductiemaatregelen. Ook stimuleren we onze toeleveranciers en klanten om zich óók in te spannen voor CO2-reductie. Sinds augustus 2020 is NEO gecertificeerd voor niveau 3 van de CO2-prestatieladder. Een van de belangrijkste onderdelen van de CO2 Prestatieladder is de communicatie en het informeren over de voortgang. Bij deze presenteren we met trots onze voortgang over 2023, en een eerste blik op 2024. Voor de periode 2023-2025 hebben we t.o.v. 2022 een reductie van 15% tot doel gesteld. Met name dankzij een reductie in het verbruik van gas en elektra hebben we over 2023 een reductie van ruim 40% behaald t.o.v. 2022! Ook voor 2024 liggen we tot nu toe goed op koers om de reductie vast te houden en mogelijk zelfs een verdere reductie te realiseren. Dit mede dankzij extra geplaatste zonnepanelen op ons dak.
