The current method of installing steel pile foundations like large monopiles - impact hammering - produces significant underwater noise and it is also time-inefficient. While monopiles are getting larger and larger, the offshore wind industry faces a serious challenge. Vibrotwist B.V. is a spin-off of TU Delft. Founder Stas Verichev commercialises a new patented technique called Gentle Driving of Piles that is faster and with little to no underwater noise emission. What a great pleasure to visit #WindEurope2024 ! Very nice to meet a delegation of over 50 Dutch companies active in the different parts of the whole value chain of wind energy. We are facing unprecedented challenges in safeguarding the security of energy supply, while at the same time we need to find clean alternatives to replace fossil fuels. For Spain and the Netherlands the urgency to take on this challenge huge. We complement each other well: Spain stands out as one of the EU nations with enormous potential for floating offshore wind energy production, while the Netherlands poses one of the continent's largest offshore energy industries.
