KONGSBERG to establish missile factory in the US ⭐ We are excited to announce that we are building a state-of-the-art missile production facility in the United States to meet global demand, following expansion in Norway and the recently announced missile factory in Australia. Located near key US Navy facilities, the site in James City County, Virginia will provide additional production capacity, sustainment and in-country tech refresh capabilities for KONGSBERG Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) and Joint Strike Missiles (JSM). “The US Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force are important customers for KONGSBERG’s Naval Strike Missile and Joint Strike Missile. Their demand signals gave us the predictability we needed to make this investment in the United States,” said Eirik Lie, president of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. “This will allow us to better serve our allies in the US and continue to expand that supply chain locally, building capacity and redundancy for these critical capabilities.” KONGSBERG’s investments will increase overall US manufacturing capability and further increase capacity to build these advanced systems, but more importantly, it will bring this capability to the US. From K-tech Apprentice to Receiving Controller ⭐ Meet Signe, a remarkable young talent at Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. Starting as a K-tech AS apprentice at 17, she's now a Receiving Controller, ensuring the quality of parts for F-35 aircraft and advanced defence systems. Her journey is a testament to dedication and hard work. "It's incredibly gratifying to receive this level of trust. It’s a significant responsibility. We need to inspect for any general damage, check the quality of paint and masking, ensure that parts are manufactured correctly, and most importantly, confirm that they meet our delivery standards,” Signe says. New production facility in South Australia ⭐ Today, we opened our new facility in Adelaide in South Australia, where we will support acquisition and sustainment programs including strike missiles, air defence and remote weapon stations for the Australian Army. The facility was officially opened by Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry and Capability Delivery, the Hon Pat Conroy MP together with Norway’s Minister of Defence, Bjørn Arild Gram. “We are delighted to open the first Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace facility in the Asia-Pacific region to support Australian acquisition and sustainment programs nationally. We believe in the importance of building and sustaining critical capabilities within Australia, ensuring that the nation remains secure and self-reliant,” said Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
