HANNOVER MESSE 2025 is where the future of industry takes shape—and energy is at the center of it all 💡 Decarbonization, grid stability, and industrial flexibility are key themes driving this year’s discussions. The energy transition isn’t just about cleaner power; it’s about smarter energy systems that work for industries, not against them. That’s why we’re taking the stage at the Energy 4.0 Pavillion. Our Director of Market Intelligence, Simen Bomnes Valåmo, will be speaking on how decentralized thermal energy storage can transform industrial heat—reducing emissions, lowering costs, and easing grid constraints. 📅 Join us on April 2 at 16:20 CET to explore how industries can take control of their energy future. The Kyoto team, consisting of Lars Martinussen, Lene Davidsen, Tim de Haas, and Lelagh Trewhella, will also be exhibiting in Hall 13, Stand E68/3. Let’s connect! And if you haven’t registered yet, you have the opportunity to receive a complimentary ticket if you book a meeting with us. We disconnect the time power is made from when it is used, for heat
Om oss
In school we were told that the sun has enormous amounts of energy. It beams 10 000 times more energy than we can use at us, every day -for free. So there really is no shortage of green energy. Except at night, and when the wind isn't blowing. Almost all industrial processes use thermal energy. And almost all that heat is generated from burning stuff, increasing the CO2 in our atmosphere. We founded Kyoto to develop solutions to capture and manage the abundant energy from renewable energy sources and apply it to reduce the CO2 footprint for industrial process heat. 🔋 Energy storage is no longer a nice-to-have—it’s a necessity. As EASE - The European Association for Storage of Energy highlights, a strong energy storage framework is essential for making Europe’s clean energy ambitions a reality. With renewables scaling fast, storage ensures stability, flexibility, and efficiency in our power system. But to unlock its full potential, we need the right policies and market incentives. The conversation on energy storage is growing, and for good reason. What steps should policymakers and industry take to accelerate adoption? Let’s push the discussion forward. 👇
🔵 European Commission announced the Affordable Energy Action Plan on 26 February 2025. It sets out a roadmap to reduce energy costs, support industrial decarbonisation, and strengthen Europe's energy security. The plan introduces reforms across multiple areas, including market design, taxation, and grid modernisation. ✅A plethora of initiatives were announced. See the selection of those initiatives that directly or indirectly impact #energystorage.

⚡ The energy landscape in 2025 is undergoing significant transformations. Here are five key trends shaping the sector: 🔷 Corporate Strategies – European oil and gas majors are adjusting their approaches, balancing traditional fossil fuel operations with increasing investments in renewables. 🔷 Renewables Acceleration – Addressing administrative and infrastructure bottlenecks could unlock faster renewable energy deployment, highlighting the importance of supportive policies and streamlined processes. 🔷 Digitalization’s Impact – The rise of AI and data centers is driving up electricity demand, emphasizing the need for reliable, around-the-clock clean power. 🔷 Geopolitical Dynamics – The new U.S. administration’s trade tariffs and withdrawal from the Paris Agreement are creating uncertainties, potentially affecting global economic growth and energy demand. 🔷 Investment Shifts – While energy investments are projected to exceed $1.5 trillion, the growth rate has slowed compared to earlier in the decade. The surge in low-carbon investments has also plateaued since 2021, underscoring the need for renewed focus on climate goals.
