We've partnered with Bindewald & Gutting Mühlengruppe and Harry Brot GmbH to produce flour with a lower carbon footprint which will be baked into bread! 🍞   🤝 Together with Yara Deutschland, we're excited to be working on this innovative, collaborative project that's sending a strong signal about the importance of climate protection.   🧑🌾 Starting back in August 2023, ten contract farmers from Bindewald & Gutting Mühlengruppe applied mineral nitrogen fertilizer made from renewable ammonia to 1,200 hectares.    📉 Part of our Yara Climate Choice™ portfolio, they're produced at our plant in Rostock, Germany and have a 75-90% lower carbon footprint compared to the same fertilizer produced from fossil-based natural gas.   🥪 Flashforward to today, the flour with a lower carbon footprint has been baked for the first time!   We're thrilled to see this pioneering project come to life and play a role in reducing the carbon footprint of agriculture in Germany! 👏

Det blir ingen konkurransekraft uten handlekraft. Dette var mitt hovedbudskap på Yaras Høstseminar i dag. Temaet i år var “Bærekraftig industri og landbruk i en urolig verden”. Draghi-rapporten har synliggjort at det haster, om vi skal få styrket den europeiske konkurransekraften. Vi må øke produktiviteten, BNP og investeringer. Vi må sikre tilgang på energi og øke satsningen på fornybar kraft for å sikre stabil energitilførsel og vi må samarbeide på tvers av landegrensene i Europa. Mitt poeng er dette: det blir ingen konkurransekraft uten handlekraft. Derfor må vi: ✅ Investere mer i ny teknologi og oppgradering av eksisterende teknologi og industri. Investeringene i forskning og utvikling må øke.    ✅ Få ned energiprisene. Det krever mer olje og gass, men også at det bygges langt mer fornybar energi til en pris industrien kan betale. ✅ Stimulere til marked for produkter med lavere karbonavtrykk. I dag går denne utviklingen for sakte til at selskapene alene kan bære kostnaden. Beslutningstakere og næringslivet må samarbeide om å øke konkurransekraften i Europa. Det er bare slik vi lykkes. Guaxupé, one of the world’s leading coffee cooperatives, to introduce Brazil's first renewable-based lower carbon fertilizer. 🤝 ♻️ These fertilizers, part of the Yara Climate Choice™ portfolio, are made from renewable ammonia and have around 75% lower carbon footprint compared to the same fertilizer produced from fossil-based natural gas. ☕ With the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of coffee beans by up to 40%, this partnership is a key step to decarbonizing coffee farming in Brazil. The #YaraWorldTour continues, and this time we're visiting Yara Deutschland! 🇩🇪 With four locations and a dedicated workforce across Germany, we're thrilled to be Growing a Nature-Positive Food Future not only in Germany, but across Europe through innovative, groundbreaking solutions. This includes: 📍 Rostock: Here we produce our fertilizers utilizing cutting-edge technologies to minimize our carbon footprint. Thanks to catalysts and other measures, we are able to make our production more environmentally friendly. 📍 Brunsbüttel: This site focuses on the production of ammonia and AdBlue. Sustainability is a priority here as well and in 2023 alone, we reduced our CO2 emissions by 90 kilotons. 📍 Dülmen: As the headquarters for marketing and sales in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Benelux countries, they work closely with partners to distribute our products to farmers. This site also houses Yara's Research & Development Center, which works to optimize plant nutrition, biostimulants, and environmental factors. Here there is a large greenhouse to test innovative solutions on crops like bananas and coffee! 📍 Berlin: The Berlin office is the hub of our digital transformation. It’s where we developed our all-in-one platform YaraPlus, helping farmers worldwide run their operations more efficiently and sustainably. We're thrilled to share oats have successfully been harvested at Hay Farms as part of our partnership with PepsiCo EU! 🌾 Having received Yara's lower carbon footprint fertilizers this past spring, the partnership is providing farmers like those at Hay Farms with crop nutrition programs aimed at decarbonizing the food value chain. Yara's CEO, Svein Tore Holsether joined CNBC to discuss our third-quarter results and share insights on the current state of the fertilizer industry. 📈 Here, he reflected on Yara's strong operational quarter with all-time high production performance and strong premiums, a testament to the robustness of our operations and the value of our core product portfolio.  🎯 However, he stressed Europe's increasing reliance on imports of energy intensive products is threatening its strategic independence.
