Do you know the signs of a stroke? Today marks World Stroke Day for 2024, an initiative focused on driving awareness and encouraging people to get active to reduce the risk of a stroke. It’s important to be aware of the signs of a stroke, with the F.A.S.T acronym being a helpful tool to remember what to look out for: F for face - check their face, has their mouth drooped? A for arms - can they lift both arms? S for speech - is their speech slurred, do they understand you? And T for time - time is critical, call 111 immediately. Z Merrilands team member Emma recently recognised a customer exhibiting some of these signs and her fast actions helped save his life. We’re so proud of Emma for her quick-thinking efforts 👏 https://lnkd.in/gxgN3fnx

You would think that giving away money was easy. Afterall, we've been doing it for over 10 years. But with 26,000+ charities in Aotearoa and an increasing need for services, we have challenged ourselves to continually improve how we give and who we give to. Community is part of Tō Tātau Pūtake Our Why and supporting local charities is an important part of how we live that commitment. I'm incredibly proud of the longstanding impact we make through Good In The Hood, but also through new initiatives such as our partnership with Dave Letele (Good In The Hood Ambassador) and the Regional Boost. The increasing diversity of groups supported is testament to being better connected to what matters most at a local level. Haley Strickland Haley Mortimer Z Energy NZ #CommunityStand #ZisforAotearoa

The presentation included a focus on the need for understanding factors like mileage, route types, load capacity when deciding on which vehicles are best suited for electrification. Thanks to all of those who attended and the other sponsors of the event. John Cunningham Grace Tocker Rebecca Wilson (she/her) Amber Scott-Harvey Andrew Bisset Maryon Wils

As part of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, we’ve had a number of special events arranged throughout the week, providing an opportunity for our people to practise their Reo and reflect on their own individual learning journeys. “There have been so many benefits from learning te reo” says Julian Hughes, General Manager, Supply. “By having a deeper understanding of the language and culture, I’ve been able to develop a range of authentic relationships with many of those around me, that I otherwise might not have been able to.” Like many others, Julian has been embarking on a te Reo journey and took some time this Te Wiki o te Reo Māori to share some of his own reflections.
