The Hospitals of Singapore (HOS) Network, hosted by CHI, had a dynamic presence at the Singapore Healthcare Management (SHM) 2024 conference yesterday! Our second roundtable of the year was a bustling success, bringing together key hospital leaders to dive deep into the critical topics of Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain. A huge thank you to all our speakers and hospital leadership representatives for their valuable contributions and insights! Some of the key highlights: Kickstarting the session, Tay Teng Choon, Peter, Chief Executive Officer and Nina Zhang, Chief Procurement Officer from ALPS Pte. Ltd. shared invaluable insights to the national procurement strategy and ecosystem while highlighting some key sustainability initiatives. They emphasised on the importance of cross-cluster collaboration and the balance between cost and sustainability goals. Dr Tang Chien Her, Head of Healthcare Vertical, ST Logistics showcased STL's commitment to reducing the impact of their environmental footprint. He highlighted their various sustainability initiatives within STL and across the healthcare continuum. Dennis M Johnny, Director of Operations, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore wrapped up the sharing session with a compelling look into the hotel's sustainability journey, from farm-to-table practices to investing in sustainable infrastructure and inspiring hotel guests towards more sustainable behaviours. The discussions, moderated by Jeannie Tey, Co-Lead, Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI)’s Sustainability Academy, were vibrant and delved deep into the sustainability landscape within healthcare and challenges faced, leaving our hospital leaders energised to continue to advance their sustainability goals, including driving sustainable procurement practices. Rounding up the session, Eugene Fidelis Soh, Host of the HOS Network and Executive Director of CHI, stimulated the discussions with a thought-provoking question: In sustainable procurement and solutions where costs are often higher, is it more of a value game or a volume game? Share your thoughts below!
