Colon, Panama – August 19, 2024 – Evergreen's Colon Container Terminal (CCT) has taken a significant step towards the sustainability and modernization of its operations with the addition of 12 new hybrid RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) equipment, not only optimizes the efficiency and competitiveness of the port, but also reaffirms CCT's commitment to the fundamental pillars of sustainability: economic, environmental and social impact in the province of Colon.

The Green Journey to a Greener Future Evergreen Receives Dual Certification for 2023 Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory In pursuit of its environmental protection policy and carbon reduction goals, Evergreen has systematically inspected and calculated greenhouse gas emission inventories for its operations, including its global fleet, office buildings, and container terminals. The survey's methodology and results have been certified by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in accordance with ISO14064 and GHG Protocol standards.

Painting the future of Ocean Sustainability On June 29th, the 12th Evergreen Maritime Museum hosted its award ceremony, "Celebrating the Wonders of Ships – Taiwan Elementary School Painting Contest," at the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation. Nearly 200 winners and their families from all corners of Taiwan gathered to joyously receive their awards.   Children are the future, Ocean Sustainability ensures the future!

Evergreen honored with 2023 Blue Circle Award for Environmental Excellence Evergreen is delighted to announce that it has received the 2023 Blue Circle Award from the Port of Metro Vancouver. This marks the ninth consecutive year, since 2015, that Evergreen has been honored with this award. The Blue Circle Award is given annually to shipping companies that excel in environmental stewardship and achieve the highest level of participation in the port authority’s voluntary environmental initiatives, including the Eco Action Program. We sincerely thank the Port of Metro Vancouver for this recognition and look forward to working together to create a greener planet for future generations.

Forever Green: Mapping the Journey to Net Zero Evergreen continues to strive to reduce carbon emissions, and all data has been verified by both ClassNK and CCWG (Clear Cargo working group). In 2023, Evergreen made substantial strides in reducing CO2 emissions, hitting a rate of 31.7g/TEU-KM. This reflects a notable 68% drop from the 2008 baseline and a 17% enhancement from 2022, thanks to initiatives such as incorporating new vessels into the global fleets.
