Recent changes to the Winter Fuel Payment have pushed even more older people towards financial hardship. Calls to our Helpline concerning Pension Credit and the Winter Fuel Payment have more than trebled in recent months. All donations will fund our Helpline and advice service, allowing older people to unlock the life-changing financial support they’re entitled to. Scandlines gewinnt Innovationspreis der deutschen Mobilitätswirtschaft In den vergangenen Jahren hat die Reederei Scandlines ihre Flotte kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt, um die CO2-Emissionen zu reduzieren. Das Ziel ist ein Fährbetrieb mit null direkten Emissionen bis 2040. Das jüngste Projekt ist die Umrüstung zu Plug-in-Fähren von zwei von insgesamt vier Hybridfähren auf der Puttgarden-Rødby -Route, so dass 80 Prozent der für eine Überfahrt benötigten Energie aus Batterien stammen wird, die vorher im Hafen über ein hochleistungsfähiges Ladesystem mit Strom geladen werden. Für dieses Projekt erhielt Scandlines am 5. November einen Innovationspreis von der deutschen Mobilitätswirtschaft. „Wir sind sehr stolz und fühlen uns geehrt, dass unser Projekt als Gewinner des Innovationspreises ausgewählt wurde. Two of our portfolio companies, Infinis and Future Biogas, are directly contributing to the UK’s energy transition. How? Alongside solar and battery storage, Infinis is by far the biggest player in generating electricity from landfill gas in the UK and prevents methane from escaping into the atmosphere. This past Sunday, nearly 500 Action colleagues and our suppliers laced up their running shoes at the the TCS Amsterdam Marathon for a cause close to our hearts. Together, we raised an incredible €250,000 for Amsterdam UMC - Cancer Center Amsterdam! 🎗️💪   Our Director of Commerce, Michael van Melick, had the honour of presenting the cheque to Geert Kazemier of UMC Cancer Center Amsterdam, who said it best: "Much more than expected actually!"   A big shoutout to our generous suppliers, to all the runners and volunteers!
