💚 GOOD GREEN NEWS (no.11) 💚 - Incredible carbon industry ratings achieved, a huge 61k ton carbon removal deal, great fundraising rounds and more. ⬇ 💨 In a $40M deal, a cohort of businesses, including Watershed customers Aledade, Inc., Canva, Match Group, Samsara, SKIMS, Skyscanner, Wise, and Zendesk, will pay to remove over 61,000 tons of CO2 from our atmosphere by 2030. 💰 Balderton Capital has successfully raised £1 billion across two newly launched investment funds. 🔋 London-based battery charging startup Gaussion has secured $12 million in Series A funding, led by Autotech Ventures, with participation from existing investors UCL Technology Fund and BGF. ⚡ Energy grid startup Flower raises €25m Series A led by Northzone. 🏅 Climeworks' Orca project has achieved a groundbreaking BeZero Carbon Rating of AAA - the highest rating in the industry! Congratulations!! 🎉 🌳 The World Bank issued a $225 million bond that ties investor returns to the amount of carbon removed by reforestation efforts in the Amazon, marking a shift from traditional bonds focused on emission reduction. 🌊 Kelpi announced their new kilo-lab facility as a hub of innovation. This facility allows them to fast-track a materials development roadmap and bring cutting-edge products to market faster. ☀ Climatize secured $1.75 million in pre-seed funding to drive crowdfunding for solar projects. 📈 Cambridge-based SYSO Technologies achieved $14 million in Series B funding to enhance their energy asset management platform, improving energy efficiency. 🇸🇪 Stockholm-based Greeniron H2 AB gained $9 million to develop fossil-free mining technology with reduced emissions. 🔌 Powerdot secured €165 million to expand its ultra-fast power charging points to more than 3,100 locations by 2026. 🇩🇪 Root Global, a Berlin-based startup, secured €8 million in seed funding to help food and beverage companies achieve net-zero GHG emissions, with plans to expand its team and develop a customer-facing product. #ClimateNews #GoodGreenNews #GreenNews #ClimateTech

💥 Climate job myth-busting 💥 You don't need to have scientific knowledge or be a climate expert to get a climate job. In a recent survey we undertook of climate companies: 🗣 50% said - it's only important for specialist roles 🗣 28% said - it's beneficial but not essential More established sub-sectors are starting to expect specific industry experience, such as carbon markets and renewable energy but generally, demonstrable, clear passion is enough. 💪 Don't let lack of climate expertise stop you applying for an amazing job to help save the planet.
